A pub is for life not just for Christmas
A difficult decision this month, found two cracking pubs in Southsea last Sunday, The Lawrence Arms and The Phoenix ( reviews to follow shortly), But I'm going with The Craven Arms as POTM, a proper pub in every sense of the word.

shame about the location but as mentioned in a review it maybe saves it from property developers
The Royal Standard
"Do I know where hell is? hell is in hello"
A quiet month with POTM going to The Swan at Fradley Junction.
Way better than on previous visits and therefore way better than expected. It even provided a BOTW.
"Beer is food." Morse, Colin Dexter
I'm going for this micropub. The owner is from NE England and knows the Rat Race in Hartlepool well. We had a right laugh comparing notes on the eccentricities of its owner. It's also a good micropub.
POTM The Bay Hop
Despite a month filled with visits to noted pubs including Belfast's Crown Liquor Saloon and Duke & York, as well as The Dove and The Prospect of Whitby in London, the real goodness only came at the end of the month with a mini-crawl in the Wimbledon area and the cosy oddness of The Trafalgar was only edged out by the beer quality, welcome and ambience at the nearby Sultan.
POTM: The Sultan, SW19

Oaka @ The Mansion House.
Probably too modern and not pubby enough for many, but if your a fan of Oakham and enjoy quality conditioning at more than reasonable pricing this place is well worth a visit. The thai bar snacks aren't too shabby either.
"Good people drink good beer" Hunter S Thompson
A clear winner this month: the Swan at Halesowen (a Black Country Ales house).
After much indecision, and having taken the view that a pub visited late in October could have been visited in November, my pub of the month is The Black Horse , a welcoming and not overly foodie house in a prosperous area of West Sussex.
"At that moment I would have given a kingdom, not for champagne or hock and soda, or hot coffee but for a glass of beer" Marquess Curzon of Kedlestone, Viceroy of India.
The Crown Inn POTM
But this was a very close second Sun Inn - two excellent pubs
