Default Oddest Beer of the Week (or, indeed, any week)

Crema, from Siren Craft Brew, which is according to the blurb is:

4.9% Deceptive Sweet White Coffee Stout

"Crema is a white stout with German Whiskey Barrel aged coffee, which builds on our continuing experiments with the ageing of coffee beans. We steeped Tamp’s coffee in a fermenter at both 21°C and 0°C to accentuate the low notes of the coffee, whiskey, wood and vanilla. Then we took 25kg of German Whiskey Aged Coffee and added vanilla and cocoa nibs to create a sweet white stout that completely defies the way it looks."

Never had such a divergence between look and taste...

Strangest concoction I've recently tried is Lime in the Coconut from Arbour, logic says it shouldn't work but it seems to.

Had a beer that was made with coffee beans that had been eaten by a Civit cat then retrieved from its poo. Most expensive coffee in the world supposedly (or should that be suppository ) Mighty fine beer though. No shit.

I have had a couple of white stouts and even with my eyes closed I could not get anything stout about the beer. That beer was on in a bar I was in last week but was not tempted £3.70 for 2/3 rds.

I had a Brass Castle Pale Stout in the Sarah Hughes Beacon Hotel over 18 months ago. At 6.4% it made a good palette cleanser after the SH Snowflake. I can't remember if it tasted like a stout!

Bizarre. Tastes just like a pina colada with tropical fruit and coconut and yet has a bitter, beery finish. Sounds all wrong and yet it really does work.
