A good week for me, spent cycling in Shropshire, Herefordshire, Gwent and Powys. So plenty of beer from Hobsons, Three Tuns and Wye Valley, and the odd one or two from Ludlow, Swan, Rhymney and Felinfoel. Some highlights:

    Hobsons Best Bitter
    Hobsons Champion Mild
    Wye Valley Bitter
    Ludlow Black Knight
    Three Tuns XXX
    Three Tuns Stout
    Felinfoel Double Dragon Export
    Rhymney Hobby Horse
    Swan Ruffled Feathers

Best beer by far was Fixed Wheel Mild Concussion 5.5% at Arvon Ale House. Apparently the brewer is a keen cyclist, and it's almost as though he anticipated my slightly wobbly ride to the station to catch my train out of Llandrindod Wells - though a fall may well have led to something more than mild concussion, as I don't wear a helmet.

A decent list this week after a few days in the Lancashire Pennines and a day in Loughbrough yesterday; Oh, and I still managed to find the odd JDW festival cider:-

    Three B's Stokers Slake 3.6%
    Wishbone Pastiche 3.7%
    Cumberland Great Corby Ale 3.8%
    Settle Mainline Bitter 3.8%
    Hopstar Armada Sur 3.8%?
    Vibrant Forest Outlander 4.0%
    Charnbrook Liska 4.0%
    Summerwine Mosaic 4.0%
    Lytham Summer Ale 4.0%
    Hopstar Dark Knight 4.0%
    Northern Whisper Oppenchops 4.0%
    Blue Monkey BG Sips 4.0%
Three Kings Dark Side Of The Toon 4.1%
    Mallinson Ella Chinook 4.1%
Blue Monkey 99 Red Baboons 4.2%
Dancing Duck Back Sack and Quack 4.2%
Settle Nine Standards No 2 Pale 4.2%
Reedley Hallows New Zealand Pale 4.2%
    Beartown Peach Melbear 4.4%
    Conwy Rampart 4.5%
    Heavy Industry Freak Chick 4.5%
    Dancing Duck Dark Drake 4.5%
    Blue Monkey Infinity 4.6%
    Tapstone Soma 4.6%
    Reedley Hallows Griffin IPA 4.7%
    Blue Monkey Vanilla Guerilla 4.9%
    Titanic Plum Porter 4.9%
    Peerless Oatmeal Stout 5.0%
    Coach House Blueberry 5.0%
    Moorhouse Pendle Witches Brew 5.1%
    Kelham Island Pale Rider 5.2%
    Marston's Old Empire 5.7%
    Peerless Penny Red Rye 5.7%
    Oakham Green Devil (Bottle) 6.0%
Blue Monkey Vintage Chimpagne (keg) 10.5%

Quite a few good ones there but I'm going for the Northern Whisper Oppenchops, a new brewery to me and this was an excellent low ABV hoppy golden ale as tried for £2.90 in the Colne Tapsters Promise.
The 10.5% Blue Monkey one was a fiver for two halves in the Loughborough Organ Grinder. I wonder what it would have cost down South. Shame it was just a sweet barley wine.

I saw rather more of Macclesfield than I was planning.

    Aylesbury Brewing -- Beaver State
    Jennings -- Hop Commotion
Robinsons -- Unicorn (numerous pints in a variety of pubs)
    Marstons -- Burton Bitter
    RedWillow -- Stateless IPA *
Bollington -- Eastern Nights IPA *
    Moorhouse -- Stray Dogs *
    Robinsons -- Trooper
    Exmoor -- Silver Stallion

BOTW goes to Bollington Eastern Nights IPA,5.6% and slipped down like a session beer,in the Park Tavern.

Footie season starting which should help beer consumption next week.

Marble Summer Extra Pale. A nice light, easy drinking 3.6%, perfect for a session on a hot day.

What a shame it wasn't hot.

    In The Baum of course.
