I've almost had a week off with a visit to the Wanstead George on Thursday and Nottingham yesterday. It hasn't helped that I've been finding the better JDW festival ciders where the beer choice has been not so good.

    Nottingham Rock Mild 3.8%
    Welton's Topper Mild 4.0%
    Burton Bridge Battle Brew 5.0%
    Nethergate Umbel Magna 5.0%
    Loddon's Forbury Lion 5.5%
    Castle Rock Screech Owl 5.5%

I'm going for Castle Rock Screech Owl as tried for £3.20 with CAMRA discount in the VAT & Fiddle near Nottingham Rail Station. It says on the clip that it's an American IPA, if this is an American IPA then I'm Kim Jong-un's long lost brother. It is a quaffable strong golden ale that along with their Black Gold Mild are about the only Castle Rock beers I would go for. Hopefully there will be something better next week (actually I know there will be).

    Fairly decent week for me.

    Ilkley - Tribus Lupulus v2.3.*
    Nomadic - Summer.
    Track - Sonoma Pale.*
    Turning Point - Rising Tide.
Brass Castle - Misfit (Rakau & Waimea).
    North Brewing - Prototype.
    Saltaire - Blonde.
Lost Industry - West Coast Pale (Columbus & Mosaic).*
    Roosters - Yankee.
    Sunbeam - Helios.
    Stod Fold - Amber.
    Kirkstall - Three Swords.
    Nomadic - Nomad.
    Ilkley - Hanging Stone.*

Very close between the Tribus Lupulus and West Coast Pale, but the former just shades it. Sampled in The Reliance, Leeds.

Almasty Simcoe & Mosaica gorgeous citrus hit for those who like that kind of thing.

Only had time for 2 pints but it would have passed the 3 pint test in Drink? https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/83539/ in Hebden Bridge.
