You need to get your accent sorted out, Jim.

...and I think you'll find yourself going through a couple of substantial tunnels, rather than over the top. Unless you're catching the once-in-a-lifetime traction engine shuttle.

Yes so do I,it was a major disappointment and having bigged it up to the rest of the crew,my judgement was called into serious question (nothing new !).However we found lots of other great pubs in Stockport that evening.

    Ye Olde Vic

    (The Cocked Hat)

    (Bakers Vaults)
    (Boars Head)
    Arden Arms
    The Railway
    The Queens Head
    Swan With Two Necks
    Crown Inn
    The Petersgate Tap

    and over in Heaton Norris
    The Railway
    The Magnet Inn
    The Midland
    The Hope Inn

The Wetherspoons is The Calverts Court (JD Wetherspoon)

So 17 pubs... (18 for those having the Spoons brekky) and depending how much Sams and Robbo people want to drink.
    Could I suggest that

    Ye Olde Vic
    Armoury
    Fairway

be tackled towards the end of the crawl ,given the 5pm opening at Ye Olde Vic and the proximity of these three to the station given that our departure times will vary and it's quite a stiff walk from Heaton Norris back to the station

Done it many times, summer and winter, and both versions of the view are outstanding.
Don't recall tunnels, but if that's what you want to remember from such a journey Will, so be it!

    Totley

    Cowburn

Two of the longest tunnels in the country, and you want views?

Well if we've moved on to tunnels, I shall be arriving via Standedge , not as long as Totley but longer than Cowburn and Disley.

Anyone who knows Stockport well fancy reordering and trimming the pub list to a more manageable number BTW?

And not forgetting that the longest and oldest tunnel at Standedge is the canal tunnel

I've been to most of them, so could give it a go. (It was me that bumped it up to 22, so I suppose it should be me trimming it back again.)
