    The Petersgate Tap

    The Railway
    The Magnet Inn
    The Midland

Nothing decent near the station so I've suggested starting at the Cocked Hat we also don't want Robbos after Robbos.

The Wetherspoons is The Calverts Court (JD Wetherspoon)
We need to add Remedy Brewhouse.

I noticed the Fairway sounds good, new tick for me, and definitely Ye Olde Vic, very much near the station. And the Armoury is a decent local but you may be tired of Robbies by then...

I was in The Fairway about 4 weeks ago, still a decent pub, but a fair walk uphill from most of the others.

The Olde Vic is great, but doesn't open until 5, so mat be an option for a last one before the train.

How about including the other Railway ,it's not far from The Arden Arms ?

Agree that Ye Olde Vic is a good pub for a lastie before catching the train.

I've booked up for this one - that pub list looks great but wasn't sure why this one was left off? The Hope Inn

I'm visiting 21Oct and yes, will be including the Railway (beyond Arden) and the Hope and Vic. wouldn't do Bakers Vault or Boars Head, traditionalists may like the Pineapple, but a better Robbie's outlet is probably the Swan w Two necks, and the Arden, both of which you have.

Most disturbed by BF's recent experience in the Crown, I very much hope that was a rare blip.

...oh, and no mention of the Queens Head (little underbank) which may be of interest to those appreciative of pub interiors (if you can squeeze in) and of low prices.

Latest list then almost as it comes but with a bit of geography

    Ye Olde Vic
    The Armoury
    The Fairway
    (The Cocked Hat)
    Remedy
    (Bakers Vaults)
    (Boars Head)
    Arden Arms
    The Railway
    The Queens Head
    Swan With Two Necks
    Crown Inn
    The Petersgate Tap

    and over in Heaton Norris
    The Railway
    The Magnet Inn
    The Midland
    The Hope Inn

The Wetherspoons is The Calverts Court (JD Wetherspoon)

So 17 pubs... (18 for those having the Spoons brekky) and depending how much Sams and Robbo people want to drink.

Good grief! Only 18 ... and then once you're at the Hope it's only a few minutes to the Nursery.

I've recently acquired Camra's guide to the Real Heritage Pubs of the North West. I've already been to the Swan with Two Necks, Queens Head, Crown and Arden Arms, but not the Alexandra and Armoury. The Nursery also features (been there) as does the Blossoms, a Robinsons pub on the A6, near the Fairway.

That would make enough pubs to arouse Alan Winfield's interest.

Was wanting to attend, (i was born here even if I didn't discover its beery attractions until relatively late on), but wasn't sure with a similar tour already planned this month.
However, megatrain tkts just became available so will arrive via Sheffield (£14rtn), and the very scenic chug o'er th'ills.
    Jonesey will tag along.

ROB - a big crawl after beaujolais day, again? You're a better man than I..!!
(in mitigation, I am doing a half day in Sheff on the Saturday, although you'll be heading into day3 at your 'fest!)
