    London and Hertford.

    Essex Street -- Antipodes
    Essex Street -- Gavel
Essex Street -- Dry Stout * (key keg)
    Whitstable -- Kentish Reserve *
    Tring -- Gazelle *
    Salopian -- Velocity *

BOTW goes to Salopian Velocity,a complex IPA with great balance on top form in The Old Cross Tavern.

Looking forward to thye PuG crawl around Shropshire, which should bring forward a lot of contenders in the week ahead.

    Kent: pretty thin.

Dark Star-Hophead 3.8%abv.Oh dear! Groutish and sarsonic.A fine beer ruined by, I would suggest, lack of throughput in a lager/community pub.
Old Dairy-Sun Top 3.6%abv.Lager-gold in appearance:citrus hops with candied fruit on the finish.A good session pale.My BOTW

Not a big list this week. On a hot day in Bristol I was going for the cider in the fridges.

    Holden's Black Country Bitter 3.8%
    Gloucester Cascade 4.2%
    Buffy's Hop Leaf 4.5%
    Springhead Blind Tiger 4.5%
    Redemption Hopspur 4.5%
    ELB Jamboree 4.8%
    Slater's Smoked Porter 4.8%
    GWB Bristol Belle 5.0%
    Welton's Hop Burst 5.0%
    Holden's Special 5.1%
    Holden's Dragon's Blood 5.6%
    ELB Quadrant Oatmeal Stout 5.8%

None of these were bad as such as they were all well kept but none were outstanding. I'm going for the GWB Bristol Belle which is easily the best beer I've tried from this brewery. It's not a classic but was excellent in the Bristol JDW the Kingswood Colliers.

    XT 2
    Purity Pure Gold
    Purity Mad Goose*
    Hall & Woodhouse C & C
    Oakham MK Ultra*
    Surrey Hills Shere Drop
    Fullers London Pride
    Koppabergs Bryggeri Wolf Warning IPA*
    Pistonhead Full Amber*

A slim week due to working all weekend, BOTW is an easy choice, Oakham MK Ultra a hop monster at only 3.7% featuring Cascade and Eureka hops, these guys can do hops. Excellent.

    This week:

    Everards Hazy Daze
    Chapel Down Curious Brew
    Salopian Golden Thread*
    Oakham Bishops Farewell*

BOTW Salopian Golden Thread. Pale, fresh, gently citrussy and very refreshing on a warm evening but very drinkable and dangerous at 5%. Another winner from Salopian.

Not much to sing about, this week.

    Shiny - New World.
    Phoenix - Arizona.
    Rat - White Rat.
    Shiny - Wrench.
    Ossett - Silver King.

With the White Rat being slightly under par, the New World was the easy winner. Sampled at The Kings Arms, Heath.

Mrs Ale here - am so jealous (of your BOTW!). We had a trip around Herne Bay and Whitstable a few weeks ago and only managed to find Old Dairy Red Top. Oh well, hopefully on the next visit!
