Kent: all beer in good nick.

Gun Brewery-Red Ale 4.4%abv: Dark tan;raspberries, a stalwart from a fairly new brewery in East Sussex.
    Kent-Session Pale 3.7%abv:Thunderingly good.
    Tonbridge-Blonde Ambition 4.2%abv:Pale, slight haze.Prominent herbal hops.
    Dark Star-Hophead 3.8%abv: A bit confined.
    Larkin's-Traditional 3.4%abv:Brittle, rather than chewy,toffee.
    My BOTW-Tonbridge Blonde Ambition.

This week saw a visit to Scotland where for three whole days it didn't rain.

Caledonian Oban 1790 (rebadged dross) 3.5%
    Harviestoun Bitter And Twisted 3.8%
    Oban Bay Kilt Lifter 4.0%
    Loch Lomond Southern Summit 4.0%
    Portobello VPA 4.0%
    Truman's Knees Up 4.2%
    Arran Dark 4.3%
    Fyne Ales Vital Spark 4.4%
    Kelburn Jaguar 4.5%
Loch Lomond Ale Of Leven 4.5%
    Kelburn Dark Moor 4.5%
    Sambrook's Battersea Rye 4.5%
    Orkney Dark Island 4.6%
Williams Brothers March Of The Penguins 4.9%
    Kelburn Cart Blanche 5.0%
    Ramsbury Chalk Stream 5.0%
    Wadworth Swordfish 5.0%
    Ringwood Old Thumper 5.1%
    Elgood's Greyhound 5.2%
    Kelham Island Pale Rider 5.2%
    Oakham Green Devil (Bottle) 6.0%
    Oakham Green Devil IPA 6.0%
    Loch Lomond Bravehop 6.0%

The winner is the Loch Lomond Bravehop as tried for £3.20 in the excellent Grog and Gruel in Fort William. The other two Loch Lomond beers were also first class, even the Boring Brown Ale Of Leven.

    More interest this week:

    North Riding NZ IPA*
    Blue Monkey Infinity*
    Purple Moose Glaswyn Ale
    Kelham Island Miami
Black Sheep Monty Python Holy Grail
Arbor Why Kick a Moo Cow*
    Oakham Bishops Farewell*

The NZ IPA was very good from a brewery new to me but BOTW was Arbor Why Kick a Moo Cow, another NZ pale ale. Odd name, top beer.

A dismal week, with only three sampled. However, they were all pretty good.

    Fernandes - Totally Ernest.*
    Fernandes - Jackdaw Mild.*
    Ilkley - Crossroads IPA.*

    The IPA just shades it.

I think North Riding is a cracking brewery, don't think I've had a duff one from them yet. Their beers go down so well in Harry's Bar, Wakefield that they have their own permanent pump. Look out for the Mosaic Pale, my favourite (and BOTW 19.02.17).

    Animal Octopus (4.6%).

On fine form at The Pilgrim in North Marston, Bucks. Hoppy and crisp: a sharp reminder that summer's (hopefully) just around the corner...

Trying to get some milds for May.Had 5 already and going out hunting some more tomorrow night.
    these stood out
    marcopaulo -mild 2
    pheasantry-Mikado mild
but my love of hops won me over so botw was
kew/weird beard -fruitbat ipa. (probably the filthiest looking beer I have had but its the taste that matters.
