A number of serious sessions during the week, with some top ale.

    Marston's --- Ascalon
    Thornbridge --- Jaipur IPA * (3PT)
Revolutions BrewCo --- Hex 6 Hop IPA *
Scribblers Ales -- One Special Brew over the Cuckoos Nest *
Blue Monkey -- Ape Ale* (3PT)
    Blackjack -- Aces High * (>3PT)
Mighty Oak -- Oscar Wilde MILD *
    Dark Star -- Hophead
    Saltaire -- Cascadian Black *
    Saltaire -- Citra *
    Saltaire -- Stateside IPA *
    North Brewing -- Prototype

Very difficult to pick a winner, the Blackjack Aces High was fantastic but BOTW goes to Blue Monkey Ape Ale,a sublime quaff in The Organ Grinder,Nottingham.

Next week needs to be quieter after that lot.

Actually managed a beer this week:

Scribblers One Special Brew Over the Cuckoo's Nest*
    Blue Monkey Ape Ale*
    Oakham Bishops Farewell*
    Hop Back Summer Lightening*

All excellent but given that Ape Ale has already had a nomination and it's been my BOTW recently, BOTW goes to Hop Back Summer Lightening. Still a very high quality and quaffable beer after all these years.

Not much to gladden the heart, this week.

    Fernandes - Sixty Shilling Mild.
    Fernandes - Jackdaw Mild.*
    Fernandes - Pekko.
    Whitstable - Oyster Stout.
    Moorhouses - Stray Dog.
    Ossett - Silver Fox.

The Jackdaw, a strong mild (5%), was easily the pick of a pretty ho-hum bunch.

    Kent,East Sussex:
Harvey's Dark Mild (Sussex XX) 3%abv.Seeing it was almost May, time for MILD. First out of the pump on a Friday lunchtime, in perfect condition.
Dark, malty, not cloying: a perfect session beer.
Vale VPA 4.2% abv. Assertively hopped golden ale. Initially moreish.
My BOTW-Harvey's Dark MILD, taken in The Rose & Crown

Only a small selection this week :-

    Holden's Black Country Bitter 3.8%
    Slater's Premium 4.4%
    Everard's Arcadia Session IPA 4.5%
    Titanic Plum Porter 4.9%
    Millstone True Grit 5.0%
    Holden's Special 5.1%
    Lymestone Cherry Stone 5.2%
    Lymestone Stone The Crows 5.4%
    Fixed Wheel Concussion Mild 5.5%
    Springhead Roaring Meg 5.5%
    Marston's Old Empire 5.7%

I'm going for the Lymestone Cherry Stone as tried for £2.65 in the Stafford Picture House JDW which was a whole lot better than last time I visited.

Swanney-light munro mild (citra) may not be in the traditional mild style but it was a cracker and BOTW
