Fairly fallow in choice with no awaydays this past week, although plenty of pints of each over a few days.

    Kent: should 'ave gone with...Harveys.
A 36 hour pass afforded 4 pub visits, each having Harveys Sussex Best Bitter as a regular feature, this being in the Low Weald. However being a real ale prat I went with the micros. In 3 cases the beer was poorly conditioned, in the 4th. sublime. On the whole, I think I would have been better off with Harveys, a beer which hasn't really changed since I first drank it in the 70s.
Westerham-Summer Perle 3.8% abv.Pale, lemony, no condition, despite being first out of a new cask.Had this trouble before.
Tonbridge-Old Chestnut 4.4%abv.Chestnut-brown. Very maltly with a bitter finish. Doesn't quite work.No condition.
Tonbridge-Barrow House Brew 3.6%abv.Great condition. Leafy hops, bit of farmyard.Tonbridge Traditional rebadged?Anyway, my kind of beer.
    Whitstable-Native 3.7%abv.Malt driven brownish bitter.Passionless.

My BOTW:Tonbridge Barrow House Brew?Traditional . Taken at The Barrow House

Had a great rest day from chasing round JDWs yesterday in the Black Country and I didn't even have a map.

    Batham's Mild 3.5%
    Holden's Black Country Bitter 3.8%
    Brecon Six Beacons 4.1%
    Adnam's Ghost Ship 4.5%
    Woodforde Nelson's Revenge 4.6%
Dark Star American Pale Ale 4.7%
    Kinver Half Centurion 5.0%
    Sarah Hughes Surprise 5.0%
    Grainstore 1050 5.0%
    GWB Bristol Belle 5.0%
    Bingley Brew #114 5.5%
    Salopian Kashmir 5.5%
    Holden's Dragon's Blood 5.6%
    Thornbridge Jaipur IPA 5.9%
Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby Mild 6.0%
    Sarah Hughes Snowflake 8.0%

The winner is one I don't recall seeing before from one of my favourite breweries. It's the Salopian Kashmir which was £3.00 in the Sedgley White Lion. It's not really my sort of pub but is doing a great job as an overspill for the Beacon Hotel. According to What Pub it's a genuine Free House and this is the second time I've found a top beer here.

Two very good sessions and then some footie.

    Hammerton -- N7*
Mc Mullens -- "Rivertown" Imperial IPA ( Beware "Rivertown" refers to Hertford where the Mc Mullens brewery is)
    Mc Mullens -- AK
    Dark Star -- Hophead * (>3PT)
    One Mile End -- Salvation * (>3PT)
One Mile End -- Hospital Porter
One Mile End -- Snakes Alive DIPA (keg)
    Thornbridge -- Peverel *
    Burning Sky -- Aurora *
Thornbridge -- Russian Imperial Stout *

So pleased to find Hophead back on great form, but BOTW goes to One Mile End Salvation,a great quaffing session ale in their brewpub The White Hart. The Thornbridge Russian Imperial Stout should get a mention,it did slip down easily.

Adnams - Mosaic (keg) in the Roper Hall in Preston. Closely followed by Shipyard IPA in Greyfriar Wetherspoons, a beer becoming fairly reliable in JDW.
