A few different locations in the Southeast.

    Greene King -- Yardbird Pale
    McMullens -- Country
    McMullens -- AK
    Crate -- Rye *
    Reunion -- Talwar *
Blue Moon -- Blue Moon (keg)
Weird Beard -- Maryana Trench *
    Siren -- Soundwave IPA
Mighty Oak -- Oscar Wilde MILD *
    Arbor -- Hoploader
Brighton Bier -- Smoked Porter *
    Burning Sky -- Aurora *
    Dark Star -- Espresso *

Some good ones sampled and BOTW was Brighton Beir Smoked Porter on fine form in The Old Fountain.A subtle smoked flavour, with a very dry finish and easily quaffable despite it's strength a fine example of the style.

Next week a short trip to Dorset means a slow week is likely.

The winner is Hopcraft The Other Side (£3.10 inc 20p discount) as tried in Beeston's Totally Tapped micropub. I haven't seen their beers since they fell out with the Leyton William IV and it's good to find one as good as ever.

Just the two cask beers this week:

    Oakham Bishops Farewell*
    Nethergate Augustunian

The Bishops was, as ever, excellent but was BOTW last week and the Augustinian really doesn't deserve the award.

BOTW Blue Monkey Chimpagne (bottle) Brewed with champagne yeast and a hefty 10%, this is a an individual and excellent drink. I don't know if they've ever brewed it for cask but can imagine things getting very messy if they did.

Lancaster Citra. Absolutely excellent in Longridge's Hoppy Days micropub.

    Hop Art Hoppy Blonde
    Red Cat Scratch
    Saltaire Cascade Pale Ale
    Saltaire Blackberry Cascade
    Saltaire Cascadian Black

BOTW Saltaire Triple Chocoholic, a must drink when ever found, enjoyed in the Fox & Hounds.

Not a great week, for me either, with just the four tried.

    Raw - Independence.
    Great Heck - Treasure IPA.
    Fernandes - Nelson IPA.
    Rat - Rat-sputin.

Easy winner was the Nelson IPA, which as the name suggests is made with the wonderful Nelson Sauvin hop.

Bits of High Wycombe, some local and 'round-a-mate's-house-for-the-rugby' drinking...

    Red Squirrel Long Nights (3.6%)
    Adnam's Southwold Bitter (3.7%)
Red Church Grisette Lemon Thyme (3.8%) (keg)
    XT 4 (3.8%)
    Squawk Waimea Pale (3.9%) (keg)
Red Squirrel Milk Stout (4.0%) (keg)
    Sharp's Doom Bar (4.0%)
    St Austell Tribute (4.2%)
    Exmoor Gold (4.5%)
    XT 3 (4.2%)*
    XT 15 (4.5%) (bottle)*
    Longman APA (4.8%)
Pig & Porter Red Spider Rye (4.8%) (keg)
Cerveceria Mexicana Day of the Dead Porter (5.0%) (bottle)
    Sharp's Sea Fury (5.0%)
    Thornbridge Chiron (5.0%) (keg)*
    BrewDog Punk IPA (5.6%) (bottle)
    Fallen Chew Chew (6.0%) (keg)
    Siren Broken Dream (6.5%)*
    Beavertown Lupuloid (6.7%) (keg)
Weird Beard Safe Stout (7.7%) (keg)
Pig & Porter Double Think (8.6%) (keg)
    Evil Twin Yang (10.0%) (keg)

Bit of everything, with some tried and tasted standard pub fayre, local delights and fancy names, but the winner is a dark beer yet again - the Siren - with smoke, chocolate and toffee flavours in the mix and a robust alcohol hit, sampled at Wycombe's quirky Heidrun.
