The most pubby of this chain, and much less hectic than the others with some high quality real ale.Great end to the year.

I'm going with The Albion, a true example of revitalization.

Some idiot on the Dark Side claimed that the new Big Smoke pub in Kingston was the Albett!!

I'm going for the Batham's classic the Royal Exchange in Stourbridge. I was there on a Tuesday afternoon so it was a lot quieter than the usual Saturday. The landlady seemed really chuffed that I had come all the way from London just to try her Batham's XXX.

I see Rex mentions in his review that the Albion is Big Smoke's fourth pub - can anyone tell me what the other three are? I only know the Antelope in Surbiton, which I really enjoyed, so would be keen to try more of their pubs (Couldn't find anything on their website) Cheers.

I seem to rememberThe Sussex Arms is one but can't find that stated anywhere ,not aware of a fourth.

Thanks Moby - I hadn't made the link that The Sussex Arms was a Big Smoke pub, even though I knew its owners were involved in setting up the Antelope. In that case, I'm going to assume the fourth pub is the Express Tavern at Kew Bridge.

In the interests of not completely derailing this thread, my POTM for December was New Brew-M in Burnley - a top quality micro pub with great beer from Reedley Hallows Brewery. It put the town's more established ale houses to shame despite being absolutely packed full with home and away supporters on a busy match day.

Actually now you mentioned The Express Tavern ,that does ring a bell.

It is the missing one as I remember when they took it over thinking I hadn't been there for around forty years!
