The Soda & Rye, formerly the Station and various other things (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/57544/) is now The Pound PubCo. Not sure if it has any connection to the ones in the North East, but same concept - all house drinks (1/2 pint, single measures) are £1.
