Those of you who have been to the Gardeners Rest in Neepsend, Sheffield might be interested to know that long-time owners Eddie and Pat are retiring soon. A Community Society has been set up with the intention of buying the pub, with a view to continuing and expanding its role at the heart of the community. I understand that there are other bids on the table, but Eddie would like to sell to the community if the appropriate amount is raised. You can read about the share offer here. The share offer closes on 19th November, and if the minimum amount of £100, 000 is not reached, it is likely that the pub will be sold to a pubco. (£22, 800 pledged at the time of writing.)

Had 3 days in Sheffield in 2013 and although I tried all the famous pubs I though this was one of the best.Loved the quirky garden.
