    Cloudwater US Light Mosaic
    Red Cat Prowler Pale
    Red Cat Scratch*
    Red Cat Kairos*
    Siren Undercurrent
    Siren Broken Dream*
    Wye Valley Hereford Pale
    Darkstar Hophead
    Cracklerock Crackerjack
Dancing Man Bone Dry Session IPA*
    Dancing Man Vagrant Pale Ale*
    Elusive Spectres Lair
    Elusive Shadow Of The Beast*
    Sherfield Village Pacific Jade
    Sherfield Village Green Hop IPA
Vibrant Forest Oat And Coffee Stout*
    Vibrant Forest Umbral Abyss*

All the starred beers would quite possibly win the title in a normal week ,and indeed possibly some unstarred,
but BOTW and very strong contender for Beer of the Year is Red Cat Kairos, stunningly good.

Almost a dry week,so by default BOTW was Saffron Brewery Saffron Porter decent enough in The Six Templars but not enough bitterness to mark it out as a leading porter.

Next week a slow drift up the southern Grand Union and some footie should generate more reasonable volumes.

Not a bad week for me with few poor pints but also few really good ones. The Dark Star Revelation didn't taste right, maybe it was the end of the cask.

    Long Man Long Blonde 3.8%
    Musket Matchlock Mild 3.8%
    Oakham JHB 3.8%
    Goddard's Scrum 4.0%
    Taylor's Landlord 4.3%
Canterbury Ales East Kent Red Rye 4.4%
Red Cat Mr M's Porter 4.5%
Three Sods Red Rocket Rye 4.6%
    Goddard's Fuggle Dee Dum 4.8%
    Gadd's Green Hop 4.8%
Canterbury Ales Green and Gold 4.8%
    Old Dairy Blue Top 4.8%
    Flower Pots Goodens Gold 4.8%
    Canterbury Ales Harvest Night 5.0%
    Three Sods Leap Year 5.0%
    Hawkshead Cumbrian Five Hop 5.0%
    Goddard's Ducks Folly 5.2%
    Dark Star Revelation 5.7%
    Marston's Old Empire 5.7%
    Welton's Headless Horseman 6.0%
Oakham Green Devil IPA (Keg) 6.0%

Unusually it's the keg beer Oakham Green Devil IPA (£3.55) that gets the vote and it was also in a JDW the Gaolhouse in Winchester where the Old Empire was also excellent. Both were considerably better than the rip off Landlord (£4.30) in the GBG listed Eclipse nearby. It seemed to be available in other JDWa visited in Hants..

    Pretty average week, overall.

    Saltaire - Decennium.*
    Settle - Earl Grey IPA.*
Five Towns - Owt 'll do.
    Vog - Speak Easy.
    Mallinsons - Amazonian. (keg)
    Fernandes - Brown Ale.
    Shiny - Wrench.
    Abbeydale - Illumination.
    Fernandes - Ten Degrees.
    Fernandes - Great Northern.*

Not much between the three starred beers, but the GN, a strong golden ale, just shades it. Disappointment of the week was undoubtedly the Amazonian. Vaguely hoppy, but largely characterless, cold fizz.

A five-pubber in Jericho, north Oxford and the Sopwell crawl in Snorbans:

    Otter Bitter (3.6%)
Tring Side Pocket For A Toad (3.6%)
    Okells Bitter (3.7%)
    Oakham JHB (3.8%)
    New River Riverbed Red (4.2%)
    Cairngorm Black Gold (4.4%)
    Liberation EPA (4.4%)
Fuller's Black Cab Stout (keg) (4.5%)
    Oakham Asylum (4.5%)
    Young's Special (4.5%)
Fourpure Flatiron American Red (4.7%) (can)
    Exeter Fall's Over (5.0%)
Mighty Moose Classic IPA (5.6%) (keg)
Oakham Green Devil IPA (6.0%) BOTW

BOTW is the hoppy excellence of Oakham's Green Devil, enjoyed at the very good Plough in (tee-hee) Tyttenhanger.

I got some great beers at the Craft Beer 100 Fest but the BOTW was
Binghams -vanilla stout pretty exceptional and a worthy GBBF winner for a change
