"At that moment I would have given a kingdom, not for champagne or hock and soda, or hot coffee but for a glass of beer" Marquess Curzon of Kedlestone, Viceroy of India.
Yeah. There used to be about three Michelin-starred restaurants but they closed years ago when the owners realised that with their new-found reputations, they could make more money in richer cities. There's still the food festival in September though.
Although I haven't been there I do know that Joules have taken on the Rose and Crown in Ludlow. Their beers are "Old School" (do I hear a sigh of relief?). I'm happy to drink in their pubs as in all cases I've tried so far they have turned then into good old fashioned boozers. My only other advice about Ludlow would be to consider going somewhere else!
