West Berks in 2019 spent 9 million on a new brewery and visiters centre. At the time I though why!.T hey also took over a few London pubs.Again I thought why!.They don't brew the sort of beer that's going to get into all the pubs and craft bars that you need to get into for that sort of investment. They also during the pandemic raised another 1.3 million to keep going. All that money has been thrown away.Walked down to their pub in Hammersmith last week hoping to get some Maggs mild but the pub is boarded up.No doubt someone will throw more money at them.cheers

Also heard that Curious Brew who spent similar amounts of money on their brewery and visitors centre has been sold to an investment group for £1 + debts.Another mega brewery who,s beers I never see.

Hardly a "mega brewery", but Curious Brewery was sold in February this year: Tenterden's Chapel Down disposes of Curious beer and cider brand, and its brewery in Ashford, with private equity firm Risk Capital Partners poised to takeover.

Curious Brew beers and ciders are quite common on craft keg taps in Kent and East Sussex.

Word on the street is that Adnams are interested in taking them on. There's a lot of (presumably highly leveraged) fixed assets which are shiny and new...
