I too count myself as lucky to have enjoyed so much of the excellent ale from Five Towns.I first sampled his wares in Tetley Dave's in 2010,several other times in various locations and finally as my BOTY in 2021 ,the magical Algorithm Dodger in Hentry Boons.Malcolm could certainly brew ale with poke.

I wish him a long and happy retirement, his ales will be sadly missed.

3 sods brewery who I like have lost their head brewer so have decided to close.Mostly cask beer.but I recently saw a mild on keg.
Trumans have stopped brewing. They still run the Trumans social club but I think they have also sold the Trumans name so might be changing its name. They will be getting keg beer contract brewed but no cask beer.no great loss imo

Saw plenty of their beer around but don't think there is much money to be made selling cask

A shame if Trumans goes, with a history going back to 1666, even if they were reborn in 2010 having gone to the wall in 1989. They made an incredible contribution to London's pub architecture in the '20s and '30s and their eagle still stands sentinel atop the parapet of their former Brick Lane brewery (now some sort of arts complex) along with their chimney, a landmark on the East London skyline.

I think they're hoping I'll buy some of their beers myself, one day.
