Maybe not a mega brewery but Eds blog confirmed Curious spent £6 million on the brewing kit alone.

    Can't say I blame them.

    Pretty average at best.

Hearing on Twitter that Worsthorne Brewing has gone bump. Based in Burnley, Lancs, a brewery name that rings a bell but I don't recall having any of their beers.

Can't recall if it was mentioned a while ago but Binghams (they of the CBOB Vanilla Stout) are basicially kaput. Brewery sold, kit now gone. Beer was contract brewed elsewhere for a while but that seems to have stopped. A damned fine beer, nevermind. Another one in my slowly-expanding middle-aged pantheon of 'now that were a great beer you cannot get now...'

Ah, that's sad news. I remember my first encounter with one of their beers: Old Trout, at the Fox & Goose in Hebden Bridge seven years ago. I've come across them from time to time since, but obviously not often enough to keep them afloat.

Shame. I remember their Brickworks Bitter being a solid session ale and a Chili Stout which (to me) was one of those "it shouldn't work, but it does" beers.

I also no longer have my pub bore staple story of how I named the Space Hoppy and that my original idea was for it to have a spring-mounted space hopper on the front of the pump clip which would then bounce up and down as the beer was pulled.
