Found a perfect St Austell HSD, but my favourite this week has to be Blue Anchor Spingo Special.
Alcohol doesn't solve problems .... but then again, neither does milk.

A hectic week for me with a visit to the local brewery fest followed by a stay in the North East and a day out yesterday in Chesterfield :-

    Hadrian Tyneside Blonde 3.6%
    Cumberland Corby Amber 4.0%
    Allendale Pennine Pale 4.0%*
    Hammerton N1 4.1%*
    Sonnet 43 Raven Porter 4.3%
    Great Newsome Holderness Dark 4.3%*
    Grafton Lady Julia 4.3%
    Sandway Hop Sepia 4.3%
    Sonnet 43 Aurora 4.4%
High House Farm Nettle Ale 4.5%
    Allendale Cardinal 4.6%
    Oakham Bishop's Farewell 4.6%*
Wild Card Ace Of Spades Porter 4.7%
    North Yorkshire White Lady 4.7%
    Shiny Abyss Mild 4.7%
    Allendale GFPA 4.7%*
    Five Points Railway Porter 4.8%*
    Mordue Radgie Gadgie 4.8%
    Allendale Adder Lager 5.0%*
    Rudgate Volsun 5.0%*
    Haqmbleton's Nightmare Porter 5.0%*
Wild Card Queen Of Diamonds IPA (keg) 5.0%*
    Bradfield Farmers Pale 5.0%
    Lincoln Green Quarterstaff 5.0%
Wild Card Blonde Cascade + 5.1%*
    Redemption Fellowship Porter 5.1%
    Mad Fox Defender 5.2%
Blue Monkey Bonobo Black IPA 5.3%*
    Sonnet 43 Impressment APA 5.4%*
    Bad Seed Cascade 5.4%
    Hop & Cleaver Bosch 5.5%*
    Allendale Wolf 5.5%
    Blue Monkey Infinity +1 5.6%*
    Big Lamp Keelman Brown 5.7%*
    Wishbone Black Porter 6.0%*
    Marble Howgate & Kemp 6.4%
    Broughton Old Jock 6.7%
    Blue Monkey Fat Ape 7.0%*
    Anarchy Sublime Chaos 7.0%*

There's so much to choose from it's scrambling my mind as much as consuming them all. I would like to give an honourable mention to the Allendale Pennine Pale which was a superb new worl hopped low abv beer. The award however goes to Blue Monkey Fat Ape as tried for £3.80 in the Chesterfield Arms in er, Chesterfield. I suspect it may be a stronger version of their two infinity beers but those two make for a very high starting point.

    West Sussex, East Kent:

    Dark Star-Hophead 3.85abv-Jaded.
Harvey's Sussex Best Bitter 4%abv-Unimpeacheable. Both these two at the eyewatering, if not criminal, price of £4.40/pint at The Horse Guards Inn
Brew Buddies BB01 Best Bitter Challenger Bobeck-4.3%abv-Workmanlike mid brown saloon bar stalwart.Toffee with a long hoppy finish.Unfined but not murksome. From a new -to- me Kent micro.Taken at The Freed Man, Walmer.
Burning Sky-Plateau-3.5% abv-Wonderfully flavoursome for the ABV.Assertive hops: a classic.
Long Man-Golden Tipple-4.7%abv- Nice change to see the malting barley referenced. Tropical and Christmas fruits. Bitter sweet. These two taken at The Berry
A very close thing between the Long Man and the Burning Sky,but my BOTW is Golden Tipple, partly because it is a pale(ish) beer at a abv range that I'm not usually happy with for lighter beers.

Definitely criminal! I remember that one as a King & Barnes house. I bet it's not that expensive in their own pub the Swan at nearby Midhurst which if I remember rightly is a very Olde Worlde sort of place.

I'd have loved this as a K&B pub!

    Quiet week for me.

    Oakham - Citra.
    Titanic - Plum Porter.*
    Horbury - 13 1/2.
    Northallerton - Peloton Pale.
    Fernandes/Rat - F-RAT-ernity.*
    Shiny - Pail.
    Small World - Twin Falls.
    Kirkstall - Black Band Porter.*
    Fernandes - Jackdaw Mild.

If the Citra had been fresh, it would have won easily. However, it was rather tired, so the honours go to an old favourite - BBP. Sampled in the Fernandes Tap, Wakefield.

    Interesting week:

    Blue Monkey Funky Gibbon
    Oakham Bishops Farewell*
    Kelham Island Easy Rider
    Bad Co Love Over Gold*
    Derventio Cleopatra*
    Everards Old Original*

BOTW Bad Co Love Over Gold. Pale, hoppy and refreshing with a hint of tropical fruit and a bitter finish. Ideal summer glugging at 4.1%.
