If it's not open, can you recommend any others nearby? Probably staying at the camp site in Newchurch (Sun to Tue or Mon to Wed). Sorry for all the questions, but you're the Man of Kent on this site - or are you a Kentish Man?
Man of Kent!. Sorry I haven't been to Doris's since the reopening, though some of my fellow scribes on pubsandbeer.co.uk have. Not sure about bank holiday opening. Most of the pubs on the Marsh have some interesting points, but I'm a bit rusty now. One that I like, but is not to everyone's taste is The Woolpack Inn. One for remoteness and lovely melancholic views is The Ferry Inn. There are East Kent Micros in New Romney and Hythe, as well as The Three Mariners. (I've been to none of these latter pubs.) I think, but the website doesn't mention it,that Hopfuzz brewery at West Hythe has a brewery shop/tap.
If I think of any more pubs of repute, I'll post. Nostalgia corner-there used to be a cracking pub at Newchurch, the Black Bull, but no more of that!

Thanks for all those. I've added The Hop Fuzz Brewery Tap, though it appears to open only Friday to Sunday, so I'm not sure I'll be able to visit. I'll look out for the former Black Bull when in Newchurch.
