Not a bad week with an unexpected visit to two local Spoons made due to the incompetence of the London Midland TOC :-

    Urban Huntsman Session Amber 3.9%
    ELB Pale Ale 4.0%
    Marston's Pedigree New World 4.0%
    Adnam's Mosaic 4.1%
    Wickwar Falling Star 4.2%
    Batham's Best 4.3%*
    Hop Stuff Fusilier 4.3%*
    Elephant School (Brentwood) Oddsnsods 4.3%*
    Sadler's Peaky Blinder 4.6%*
    Portobello Market Porter 4.6%*
    Dartmoor Jail Ale 4.8%
    Welton's Hop Burst 5.0%
    Brodie's Old Street Pale 5.0%
Adnam's Redpoint Tai Pale Ale 5.0%*
    Sadler's Red IPA 5.7%*
    Marston's Old Empire 5.7%*
    ELB Quadrant Oatmeal Stout 5.8%*

There are four contenders here the ELB Quadrant, Hop Stuff Fusilier, Sadler's Red IPA and the Spoons International Adnam's Redpoint Tai Pale Ale.
It's difficult to choose between these but I'm going for the Hop Stuff Fusilier as tried at the Leytonstone Walnut Tree for £2.45. To me Hop Stuff is another great London brewer that have improved no end since they started up. The Walnut Tree is also on the up beer wise as they also had the Quadrant Stout on.

A better week than I was expecting.

    Greene King -- XX MILD*
    Dorset Brewing -- Citrus Maximus
By the Horns -- Samba King*
    Redemption -- Hopspur*
    Cromarty -- Brewed Awakening *
    Crwr ial -- Tail Whip
    Tiny Rebel -- Billabong * (3PT)

BOTW goes to Tiny Rebel Billabong ,a great session ale on top form in the Euston Tap and a fitting end to great day. Will get another visit on May 21st

Next week an end month session in The Wenlock should offer some good contenders,

No pub this past two weeks : on the bottled front I enjoyed a glass of Hallertau Blanc from Canterbury Ales.At 4.5% abv and citric, rather me-too, but rewarding nonetheless.

Small but quality selection this week:

    Blue Monkey British Ape
    Oakham St. Bibiana
    Oakham Bishops Farewell

British Ape last week so BOTW goes to Oakham St. Bibiana. Another quality special from Oakham, pale amber and 4.5% but with their familiar citrussy bitterness.

    Vocation - Bread & Butter.*
    Mallinsons - Columbus.*
    Bad Co. - Communication Breakdown.
    First Chop - POD.*
    Tigertops - Mosaic King.*
    Revolutions - A New England.
    Neepsend -Stout.

East winner was the Mosaic King, another superb beer from Tigertops. Massive hop profile, but with enough malt in the background to keep it very drinkable. After saying on last week's BOTW thread that I'd be unlikely to find it locally, it was a very pleasant surprise to see it on the pumps in Harry's Bar, Wakefield.
