Out saving pubs and enjoying it.

Not too bad overall, a couple of bland ones along the way,
    Darkstar Hophead 3.8%
    Darkstar Wheat Purple 4.2%
Bond Brew Best of British 4.0%
    Bond Brew Goldihops 3.9%
    Brakespeare Bitter 3.4%
    Truemans Blindside 4.3%
    Otter Fusion 4.8%*
    Tintagel Arthur's Ale 4.4%
Weird Beard Mariana Trench 5.3%* (keg)
Weird Beard Fade to Black6.5%* (bottle)
    Skinners Lushingtons 4.2%*
    Beavertown Gamma Ray 5.4%* (keg)
    ELB Orchid 3.6%*
    Summer Wine Diablo 6.0%*
    Oakham Citra 4.2%*
Brew By Numbers 17/02 Grisette Lemongrass 3.8* (keg)
    Titanic Blackberry Gold 4.5%

Two of the three main contenders were on keg, (maybe I'm on the turn)! The keg offerings from Weird Beard and Brew By Numbers were outstanding but a in a photo finish Summer Wine Diablo just takes it ,a 6.0% IPA on cask in the ever excellent Wenlock Arms last night.

    Hawkshead Vienna Lager 5.0%*
    Brodie's Californian 5.0%
    Holden's Special 5.1%*
Kernel Pale Ale Chinook (Keg) 5.2%
    Brodie's Jamaican Stout 5.4%*
Brodie's Apple And Stem Ginger Porter 5.8%*
    Hackney New Zealand IPA 5.8%*
    Wild Card Black IPA 6.0%*
Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby Mild 6.0%*
    Arbor Rocketman 6.0%
    Brodie's Kentish Town Brown 6.4%
Brodie's Chunky Monkey Chocolate Porter (Keg) 7.1%*
    Brodie's Superior London Porter 7.8%*
    Brodie's Mocha Milk Stout 9.0%*

It's quite difficult to pick a winner from this lot. The Chunky Monkey is worth s mention as it seems to have been brewed with bananas as well as chocolate and was quite dry for the ABV. However, Holden's are an old school Independent brewer whose beers I have enjoyed for nearly forty years now and their Special at £2.90 in the Great Western last Tuesday was perfection. The "craft" Arbor Rocketman tasted odd in comparison.

No much variety but some top quaffing.

Marstons -- New World pale Ale*
    Hop Stuff -- Fusilier*
    Brightside -- Polaris * (>3PT)
    Conquest -- ESB

BOTW goes to Brightside Polaris,a good IPA on fine form in The Exmouth Arms,Clerkenwell and very sessionable it was too.

Next week might tick off a few new pubs in Long Itchtington.
