No pub this week: on the bottled front I've particularly enjoyed Harvey's Star of Eastbourne IPA at 6%+abv a highly drinkable strong 'un. Not bottle conditioned, unfortunately, but Harvey's can be forgiven that on this occasion.

    Thunder Road Pacific
    Atom Schrodingers Cat*
    Saltaire Triple Chocoholic*
    Great Heck Dave
    Ossett Silver King
    Robinsons Organ Donor (Dizzy Blonde)
    Samuel Smith's Extra Stout (keg)*

BOTW is Saltaire Triple Chocoholic but I was very impressed with the Railway Porter from the new Berkshire micro Bond Brews.

A very decent week mainly thanks to Hull.

    Marston's -- Old Empire IPA * (4PT)
    Saltaire -- Triple Chocoholic *
    Titanic -- Plum Porter *
    Atom -- Blend 1 -Camomile *
    Saltaire -- Raspberry Blonde *
    Wold Top -- Spring Fling
Portobello -- Northern Line Stout *
    Moorhouse -- Pride of Pendle
    Brouwerij'tij -- Amsterdam Blonde
Brass Castle -- Northern Blonde *
    Cathead -- IPA
Atom -- Dark Alchemy * (keg)
    Camerons -- Press Gang
Great Newsome -- Hops in Spring *
Vale -- Punk is Dead *

There was some great ale in Hull, special mention to Atom brewery which I hadn't come across before but will keep an eye open for in future . BOTW however goes to an old favourite Titanic Plum Porter in The Admiral of the Humber

Next week a return visit to Exmouth Market ,trying to pass myself off as a hipster

A busy week with mostly the Spoons fest :-

    Acorn Barnsley Bitter 3.7%
    St Peter's Blushing Blonde 3.9%*
    Mighty Oak Kings 4.2%*
    Williams Black 4.2%*
    Lincoln Green Little John 4.3%
    Bateman's Dark Lord 4.4%
Bath / Beerd Cubic Pale 4.5%*
    Rockin' Robin Stoutly Robin 4.5%*
    Kent Altered States 4.7%
    Blue Monkey Infinity 4.6%*
    Daleside Spring Rye 4.8%
    Saltaire Triple Chocoholic 4.8%*
    Kent Prohibition APA 4.8%*
    Pheasantry Stout 4.8%*
    Wharfedale Crimson Rambler 4.8%
    Greene King Benjamins 5.0%
    Vale Punk Is Dead 5.0%
Shepherd Neame Hog Island APA 5.0%
    Banks's Amsterdam Blonde 5.5%
    Dark Star Revelation 5.7%*
    Wadworth Bibock 6.2%*
    Robinson's Trooper 666 6.6%

The Dark Star Revelation was particularly enjoyable for the Cheapskate Monday price of £1.89 at the E4 Kings Ford and also for £2.29 at the Nottingham Roebuck (twice). The Saltaire Triple Choccy was also pretty good at the improving E11 Walnut Tree for £2.45.
The winner however is the Kent Prohibition APA for £3.40 and in superb nick at the suburban Whitstable Tankerton Arms micropub.

    Quality week:

    Marston's Old Empire IPA*
    Phipps NBC Gold Star*
    Church End Rest in Peace*
    Oakham Bishops Farewell*

All very good with the Gold Star being a proper and very drinkable IPA.
BOTW Church End Rest in Peace. Described to me as a pale barley wine seems about right. Amber coloured, beautifully balanced and dangerously moreish at 7%.

    Quiet week for me.

    Five Towns - Hello Spaceboy.*
    Intrepid - Mothers Bruin.
    Siren - Liquid Mistress.* (keg)
    Fernandes - Half Nelson.*
    Fernandes - Sunshine IPA.
    Ossett - Dragon Bones.
    Roosters - Baby Faced Assassin.*

My favourite two were the Five Towns and Siren. However, the latter was too cold for my palate, so I'll give it to the Spaceboy, another very sessionable pale 'un.

    Quiet week for me too:

    XT 4 (3.8%)
Devil's Backbone Bravo Four Point (4.0%)
Liverpool Organic Joseph Williamson Tunnale (4.0%)
    Rebellion Smuggler (4.2%)
    Animal Oink (4.6%) (bottled)
    Animal Giraffe (4.6%)
    Titanic Plum Porter (4.9%) BOTW
    Red Squirrel London Porter (5.0%)
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale (5.6%) (bottled)

I know it's a perennial favourite, but a well-kept pint of Titanic's superb Plum Porter always hits the spot. As sampled in Reading's The Back of Beyond.

I note that the TPP gets regular gongs on this thread.
Did anyone have the 'MIM' Plum Porter in Walters (Hull)? I heard the guv saying he thought it just about topped the Titanic but, without a parallel tasting, I imagine that'd be a tough one to call...
