A decent amount of beer during the week.

    Timothy Taylor -- Landlord
    Hop Stuff -- Oatmeal Stout.
    Malt -- Prestwood Best * (5PT)
    Fullers -- ESB *
    Oakham -- Beer Monster * (3PT)
    Towcester Mill -- Bell Ringer
    Thornbridge -- McConnells *
    Thornbridge -- Baize *
    Dark Star -- Revelation *
    Greene King -- IPA

Special mention to those Thornbridge brews and the outstanding Oakham Beer Monster, which I suspect may get another nomination,so my BOTW was Malt Prestwood Best on great form in the Red Lion,Marsworth. It looked a BBB but had terrific British hop bitterness and a dry finish which just demanded a session,a great quaffing ale at 4.4%.

Next week in Dorset so expectations are very low.

Bristol Beer Factory Southville Hop IPA 6.5%*
    Mystery Brewer Komatosesis? 6.7%*
    Salopian Automaton 7.0%*

The Mystery Brewer is an interesting one as this was on in the Wolverhampton Great Western yesterday and all they knew was the name and the ABV. To make things worse I didn't write down the name but am going by memory, plus the fact that the GW staff probably had to make a note of it from an indistinct label. It was a New World hopped IPA/APA and if I had to guess whose it was I would go for Tiny Rebel but this is very much clutching at straws.
The other two contenders are the Salopian Automaton and the Bristol Beer Factory Southville Hop IPA. I'm going for the Southville as tried for £3.40 in the Great Western on Tuesday.

BOTW Bristol Beer Factory Southville Hop IPA

    A quality week:

    Malt Prestwoods Best
    Fullers ESB
    Oakham Beer Monster
    Wolf Sirius Dog Star
    Ramsbury Red Velvet
    Blue Monkey Ape Ale
Blue Monkey The Year of the Monkey
    Oakham Bishops Farewell

All were good and all would make a worthy BOTW.
As predicted by Mr. F, BOTW goes to Oakham Beer Monster. Looks like a traditional brown bitter and tastes malty and fruity initially before giving way to Oakham's trademark bitterness. Deeply drinkable at 4.8%.

Quiet week, with some indifferent beers and a couple not quite on top form.

    Rat - Lab Rat.
    Walls - Snow Storm.
    Salamander - Lost Lobos.
    Bobs - Yakima Chief.*
    Rat - Smoked Rat.*

The Yakima Chief, a West Coast Pale Ale, just shades it.

Bond Brews Best of British (4.0%)
    Liberation Liberation Ale (4.0%)
Malt the Brewery Starry Nights (4.0%)
    Sharp’s Doom Bar (4.0%)
    Upham Punter (4.0%)
    Fuller’s London Pride (4.1%)
    Rebellion Smuggler (4.2%)
    Red Squirrel Hopfest (4.2%) BOTW
    XT 1 (4.2%)
    Adnams Ghost Ship (4.5%)
    Brightside Manchester Skyline (4.6%)
    Tring Tea Kettle Stout (4.7%)
    Goddards Fuggle-Dee-Dum (4.8%)
    Fourpure Beartooth (5.3%) (can)
    Goose Island IPA (5.9%)

A good week on the whole, with Abbots Langley and Winkfield ticked off, as well as a trip to the XT Brewery on the Saturday. Having heard a lot of good things about Red Squirrel on this forum, was good to able to partake of an ale of theirs which turned out to be a worthy winner. The Fourpure Beartooth ran it a close second though.

Visited this excellent micropub The King's Ditch last Friday and they had 7 Byatt's ales on, all very good so BOTW is:
