    Default Liverpool Suggestions

Visiting parents in Cheshire next week, will get out for an afternoon, Liverpool is 30 mins. Previously done Crown Hotel, Philharmonic, White Star (Quinn's), Roscoe Head and Grapes.
Suggestions for a half dozen afternoon crawl in the central area from around 1pm till 5 if anyone can, cheers in advance.

So far considering Dr Duncan's, Ma Egerton's and down to Baltic Fleet.

Don't bother with Dr Duncans it's gone a long way downhill. Only Marston's beers on our last visit.

From Dr Duncans you can see the Ship & Mitre then carry on down Dale Street to the Vernon, then Thomas Rigbys a quick divert to Lion Tavern.

Other wildcards are Excelsior, Lady of Mann, Hole In The Wall, Poste House, Victoria Cross.

Quite impressed with Ma Egertons although the beer range is pedestrian.

Just around the corner is the JDW North Western. A great building, especially the rear room and a very good selection of ales.

The better guests are on the side bar.

I must get around to reviewing the last two in the next day or so.
A pub is for life not just for Christmas

That's brilliant mate, thank you. Not yet decided between Chester and Liverpool as Chester is 19mins but the supply in Liverpool was rather daunting to chug through.

The Baltic Fleet is enticing but it's a good stretch from Lime St if you're pushed for time.

Yes indeed, didn't get that far but certainly visited some decent pubs. Cheers for the Ship and Mitre ROBC, absolutely top notch.
