Teignworthy Imperial Russian Porter - just a half, mind, as it clocks in at 10.5%...

Peerless Pale (3.8%) as encountered at the Friar Penketh in Warrington at the ridiculously low price of £1.95 is my BOTW. Hoppy and sessionable; would have quite happily stayed for several more.

    On the county border:
Bath Ales-Forest Hare 3.9%abv: A bit out of season I'd suggest, but nowt wrong:raspberries and zesty hops.
Harvey's-Sussex best Bitter 4%abv:Pretty damn fine.
On the bottled front I enjoyed All in Jim APA from Time and Tide, a new craft outfit over at Eastry in East Kent, and surprisingly for a died in the wool traditionalist , I found a (naturally conditioned ) CAN of Spratwaffler Pale Ale from the same source most acceptable.
Forest Hare,my BOTW.Taken at The Globe and Rainbow

A much better week, some solid boozing.

    Church End --Willie Brew'd *
    Oldershaw -- Great Expectation
    Tring -- Drop Bar *
    Oldershaw -- Newton's Drop
    Otley -- O3
    Windsor & Eton -- Tree Tops * (3PT)
    Redemption -- Big Chief
Wierd Beard -- Little Things That Kill *
    Laine -- Peoples Pint IPA

BOTW goes to Windsor & Eton Tree Tops on fine form in the Queens Head,Acton Street. It's described as an African Export Stout and apparently has some african ingredients which I failed to suss.Good pint.

Next week really must move the boat on from Berko,so a final farewell there and a possible visit to Tring.

Not a big week for me :-

Cathedral Heights Asylum Black IPA 3.9%*
    Orkney Ney Dragonhead 4.0%
    Belhaven Burns Brown Ale 4.0%
    Oakham Citra 4.2%*
    Adnam's Ghost Ship 4.5%*
    Truman's Attaboy 4.6%*
    Milestone Honey Porter 4.7%
    Greene King Abbot 5.0%
    Dorset Midnight Blinder 5.0%
    Arkell's Kingsdown 5.0%
    Purity Saddle Black 5.1%*
    Byatt's Regal Blond 5.2%

The winner is Oakham Citra in superb condition at the GBG listed Felix Holt Spoons in Nuneaton for £2.29. I think I must have caught a new cask as it had a massive hop flavour. The other two beers tried were in faultless condition as well.

    BOTW Oakham Citra

I spotted a clip for a beer named Bucking Fastard from an outfit called North Blyth (which I presume is based somewhere in the Tyneside area) at the Lord Nelson last week.

Unfortunately, however, the clip was also the wrong way round, so I never did find out whether it might have been a BOTW...

Northumberland Brewery brew a regular beer called Bucking Fastard.

I suspect if a new micro in the same area is also brewing one then legal things may well happen.
