    Dark Star Hophead
    Hop Art Hoppist
    Hop Art Golden IPA
    Jennings Cumberland
    Trumans Gunboat Smith
    Oakham Citra
    Hogs Back Tea

I was hoping to make the Trumans beer the winner, a truely excellent black IPA but it has to go to a previous winner Oakham Citra which really was spot on and BOTW.

    Not a bad week :-

    Holden's Black Country Mild 3.7%*
    Holden's Black Country Bitter 3.8%*
    Purity Pure Gold 3.8%
    RCH Steam Sleigh 3.8%
    Lymestone Stone Faced 4.0%
    Acorn Barnsley Gold 4.3%
    Grainstore GB Best 4.3%
    White Horse Wayland Smithy 4.4%
    Titanic Plum Porter 4.9%*
    Hanlon's Goodwill 5.0%
    Brodie's Old Street Pale 5.0%*
    Greene King Abbot 5.0%
    Acorn Archer IPA 5.0%
    Brodie's Jamaican Stout 5.4%*
    Everard's Nutcracker 5.0%
    Lymestone Cherry Stone 5.2%
Caledonian / Baird Rising Sun Pale Ale 5.5%
    Welbeck Santa Baby IPA 5.9%*
    Holden's Old Ale 7.2%*
    Sarah Hughes Snowflake 8.0%*

Ironically as Twelfth Night is long gone the winner is Welbeck Santa Baby IPA, a new brewery for me I and a place I have to own up to thinking was in Yorkshire rather than Notts!! Needless to say it's not really a Xmas beer but a heavily New World hopped strong IPA. It was on sale at £3.40 in the Wolverhampton Great Western.

    BOTW Welbeck Santa Baby IPA

    A pretty quiet week.

    Imperial - Born Slippy.
    Empire - Old Liquorice Stout.
Vocation - Divide & Conquer.* (Keg)
    Mallinsons - Mount Hood.
    Burton Bridge - Bramble Stout.
    Rat - Reservoir Rats.
    Fernandes - Great Northern.*

Easy winner was the Divide & Conquer. I've been wanting to try this beer for ages and it didn't disappoint. Yes, with it being keg it was too cold and at £5.90 a pint, it was a size 9 to the 'nads. However, it was beautiful on the nose and packed with flavour. Can't wait to try it on cask.

Just the three but all good:

    Towcester Mill Black Fire*
    Oakham Bishops Farewell*
    Hop Back Winter Lightening*

BOTW Hop Back Winter Lightening. I like Summer Lightening a lot but had heard that the Winter version wasn't great so this was a pleasant surprise. 5.5% of winter comfort.

    A very thin week

Tring -- Side Pocket for a Toad
    Ringwood -- Boondoggle
    Malt -- Golden Ale
Shipyard -- American Pale Ale (keg)

BOTW goes to Malt Golden Ale ,a pleasant if unspectacular brew from The Rising Sun,Berkhamsted which is a great pub.

Next week scratching about in Dorset where hitherto its been tricky to find a great BOTW.
