Three Legs Brewing:American Amber ale. 4.8%abv. Not really my style of choice, dark amber, toffee.Ardent:is this the "American " influence? A new brewery for me, based at Brede.

A good list this week as a result of a couple of days stayed in the Frozen North and it literally was this time as there were some superb sunlit snow scenes crossing and either side of Shap Summit.

    Titanic Steerage 3.5%
    Holden's Black Country Mild 3.7%*
    Borough (Lancaster) Kilimanjaro 3.8%
    Holden's Black Country Bitter 3.8%
    Oakham JHB 3.8%
    Robinsons Dizzy Blonde 3.8%
    Phoenix Arizona 4.1%
    Hawkshead Red 4.2%*
    Hadrian Border Legion 4.2%
    Robinson's Unicorn 4.2%
    Cumberland Corby Blonde 4.2%
    Greene King Rocking Rudolph 4.2%
    Dukeries Lime Tree Porter 4.4%
    Hawwkshead Lakeland Gold 4.4%
    Purity UBU 4.5%
    Lancaster Black 4.5%*
Animal Brewing Co (XT) Swish 4.6%
    Blackedge Treacle Stout 4.7%
    Parker Viking Blonde 4.7%
    Fuller's Firecracker 4.8%
    Everard's Sudwerk Inbetween 4.8%
    Saltaire Blackberry Cascade 4.8%
    Hawkshead Cumbrian Five Hop 5.0%*
    Cross Bay Zenith 5.0%
    Brodie's Old Street Pale 5.0%
    Holden's Special 5.1%*
    Thornbbridge Kipling 5.2%
    Redwillow Peeerless 5.2%*
    Salopian Midnight Express 5.2%*
    Brodie's Jamaican Stout 5.4%*
    Lytham IPA 5.4%
Sonnet 43 American Pale Ale 5.4%
    Dancing Duck Abduction 5.5%*
    Thornbridge Jaipur IPA 5.9%*
Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby Mild 6.0%
    Black Hole Milky Way 6.0%
    Rat Black Death 6.5%*

I don't think any of these were poor pints and if there was an award for the best name it would definitely be Rat Black Death.
It comes to a fight between two strong stouts by Brodie's and Salopian. They were remarkably similar but Brodie's is local so one of my favourite brewers Salopian gets it with the first beer tried that wasn't pale. I found it in the really superb Wigan micropub called Wigan Central at £3.20.

    An interesting week:

    Cotton End Brewery Aramis*
    Cotton End Brewery Goldings Pale*
    TT Landlord
    Oakham Bishops Farewell*
    Marstons Old Empire IPA
    Ringwood Boondoggle*
    Fullers London Pride
    XT XPA*
    Ringwood Fortyniner
    Purity Mad Goose
    Vale GMT*
    Mad Squirrel APA*
Leighton Buzzard Brewery (LBB) Rebel Yell*
    Bass*

Some very good beers in there with Cotton End and LBB beers both good and both new to me.
Impossible to look beyond XT XPA for BOTW though. Described as an American IPA and at 5.9% it's a very good one.

Boating in seriously cold weather aided consumption. This list may be familiar to readers of this thread.

    St Austell -- Tribute
    Cotton End --Aramis *
Cotten End -- Goldings Pale *
    Oakham -- Bishops Farewell *
Sarah Hughes -- Dark Ruby Mild *
    Marstons -- Old Empire IPA
    Ringwood -- Boondoggle *
Marstons -- New World Pale *
    Fullers -- London Pride
    XT -- XPA * (3PT)
    Ringwood -- Fortyniner
    Purity -- Mad Goose *
    Vale -- GMT *
    Mad Squirrel -- APA *
Leighton Buzzard -- Rebel Yell *

Having done ,somewhat foolishly, the three pint test on XT XPA in reality that was the winner, but just to ring the changes I'll nominate Mad Squirrel APA,in perfect condition in The Bald Buzzard ,Leighton Buzzards first micropub.

A rocket fuel for BOTW this week Sonnet43 Stand Up & Laugh #30 IPA

A 6.9% dangerous hop bomb. I just tried the one in The Baum on Saturday.

I tried another last night and now it's died.
