No more new Spoons for me this year so I've done a breakdown of the figures.
Number of open Spoons visited 853
Number of open Spoons not visited 19
Number of airport Spoons 16
Total 888
I'm not counting airport ones at all.
Breakdown of those not visited
Bucks 1 (Bletchley opens tomorrow)
N Yorkshire 2 (Scarborough & Whitby)
Devon 7 (1 in Exeter, the rest "awkward")
Ulster 4
Eire 5
There are 3 in the pipeline for Feb & March at Gorleston, Downham Market and Liskeard. Because of Liskeard I'm not going to Devon until April.
I counted 8 for sale that are still open.
There are at least 2 that will close when the lease expires next year.
I wouldn't be at all surprised to see more closures announced next year.
My total from this link :-

is 860.
As for micropubs, I've been to more than at the start of the year!
That's very impressive. How many is that this year? It wasn't clear whether you'd previously done 577 or was that a miscount? Anyway, it's especially impressive if you managed to get to Hawick without pronouncing the name of the town correctly.
Well, you could hardly have been to fewer than before!
Come On You Hatters!
Yes two visits one to the North and one to the South. It will be late Spring or early Summer with Belfast from Liverpool and Dublin from Holyhead. I've never been to the North, I have been to the South but wasn't keen on Dublin and didn't have any time to stop in Cork where it was raining anyway. Come to think of it I've never been to a pub in Holyhead. I don't think I've missed much!
No, and I'm not expecting any after some of the reviews!
Furthermore I completely disagree with the way he uses Wetherspoon "News" to inflict his views about Brexit on his customers and more importantly his staff. This has nothing to do with whether it's right or wrong to leave but the fact that he is politicising the entire business whether the staff (and customers) like it or not. I would be very surprised if it was providing any benefits to the business. If he wants to rant about the subject he should stick to personal articles or appearances instead of dragging the company into it.
My total is 137 Spoons, and 131 micropubs.
I've also visited the 2 Spoons in Dublin, The Three Tun Tavern in Blackrock, and the Forty Foot in Dun Laoghaire, and have to say both are very decent and well worth a visit. You can get cask ale on handpump, which is always a treat when I'm over.
My favourite Spoons in England has to be the one in Bury St Edmunds, and of course the North Western at Lime St.
A stand out micro has to be the Butchers Arms in Herne Bay, a fantastic little place and where it all began
