Default The truth about receiving foreign football from a foreign source

For years now we have been listening to how SKY and the FAPL own your pub. Well we at PUB FC (QC Leisure) have decided to tell you all the truth. The key aspect of what actually happened in the landmark QC Leisure V FAPL court case which started in 2008 and lasted for four years.

The FAPL compiles 8 points of attack in the case they failed on six of them and won on two. Let’s concentrate on the Two which the FAPL won first of all.

    • THE ANTHEM – I’m sure not many people know this but the FAPL claimed to own the rights to the KASABIAN song which is played before most PL games. We were unsure so we challenged it. WE LOST. They did in fact own the rights. This is no longer a problem and has since been removed from the feed by the FAPL, WHY? We are unsure.
    • THE COPYRIGHT WORKS – This is what the FAPL classes as the BIG win. It was a punch to the stomach for us but we knew with enough time and effort we could combat it. We as a company put everything in motion to develop a LOGO REMOVAL system, it may surprise you all but the Judge involved in the court case gave us the idea. A statement in the court case which we have posted a link to below states that “QC LEISURE SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO CARRY ON THEIR BUSINESS IF THEY ARE ABLE TO COVER ALL COPYRIGHT WORKS.

What did the FAPL do about losing the other 6 key points?
In 2012 they tried to overturn the decision. This was overruled and they were unsuccessful on a second attempt to stop you viewing what you are legally allowed.

    So what is next?
A lot of publicans that have not migrated over to QC Leisure have been advised they have logo removal and are viewing legally.
We have discovered this has not been the case at all. Below we have listed portals which are illegal and cannot be used in your pub.

    - Stalker Portal
    - Beta Unistream
    - Card Sharing devices

If you have been using this system please contact your supplier and ask where he is receiving the stream from. We would also recommend you ask for information regarding the back ground of the company and what they have in place if you were caught using this stream and lack of logo removal.

Why are we telling you this?
For years we have been fighting a fight for the PUBLICANS. As a company we got them all in a good position. This is now being ruined by cowboy installers who don’t care about what happens to you or your pub, they are simply lining their pockets with your hard earned takings. We have enclosed a leaflet with our details for you to look at. We will also help with any legal queries you may have.

We present a true alternative to Sky for pubs and welcome any discussion on this topic. We are happy to answer any questions regarding the legality of Sky alternatives and keep an open and honest approach at all times.

I think this is the system my local had until this season...

Despite the legalities the brewery "suggested" it would be wise to disconnect it from the tv's in the pub.

Shame really but it does stop my Manchester United obsessed mate curtailing a pub quest because he can watch the game.

The harsh reality is if you infringe on copyrighted materials then the FAPL will quite rightly look to prosecute. Our patented logo removal software prevents any logo being shown which protects the customer and n essence protects the FAPL copyrights too.
We have invited them on more than one occasion to view the system. For reasons best known to themselves they have chosen to decline our invitation. Make of that what you will.

There is a slight Elephant in the room to your argument. Sky and BT paid over £3 billion for the current rights so why do you think pubs should show it for free.
