I think its a fair comment by the guy.You have to be certain a pub is shut before you enter it as thus.Drive -by reviews are not really acceptable.

Yep I'd agree in general but there are better ways of reporting a pub never closed than a diatribe on an unrelated site. I posted his comments, which incidentally were relayed to me by a third party, including the the words "for your education". So due diligence and all that and hands up it was I that marked it closed on slim evidence, so I'm a numpty too 😔 ( I think that's the red face one) The source was not a one off reviewer or someone noted for drive by reviews although his drive by bus top pics are legendary. 😉

Ultimately all information is correct at time of posting. Given the member numbers on this site compared to mega/pub I think we do remarkable well. All information has to be taken with a pinch of salt. Anyway premature completion of the cricket is starting to catch up on my cerebral functions and my liver ain't happy either.

I've been looking at pubs in Accrington for the first game of the season this Saturday. Struggling to find anything half-decent, but this one caught my eye: The Warner Arms - a half-decent review from Al Bundy: "A couple of real ales were on." (16th July 2015).

But according to What?ub, there's no real ale here. Oh, wait a minute, "last surveyed on 01/01/1999".

No need, it was updated on 29/7/15, an update being a change to some details and is different to a survey. Maybe the real ale was taken out between the 16th and 29th?

I was in a couple of months ago and I think there was at least 3 cask beers on. Grants bar has a good selection of casks with a fair few from there own micro brewery. The Crown next to the ground will have a couple on but can get bit busy.

Yes I must take responsibility for this episode and although I did not submit the pub as being closed strongly suggested it was. Should have done a bit more research and offer no excuse although must say looking at the Dec 2014 photo any stranger to the town would no way think this was an open pub.
