Another short list due to the Spoons cider fest. It was only saved from being pathetic by a day in Liverpool, :-

    Bateman's Gold 3.9%
    Peerless Triple Blond 4.0%
Liverpool Organic 24 Carat Gold 4.2%
    Lytham Ice King 4.4%
    Downton Bogus Buffalo 4.8%
    Portobello American Pale Ale 4.8%
    Peerless Storr 4.8%
    Liverpool Craft American Red 5.0%*
    Brodie's Californian 5.0%*
Burton Bridge Stairway To Heaven 5.0%
    Peerless Project 366 5.0%*
    Fernandes Black Voodoo 5.1%*
    Phoenix Wobbly Bob 6.0%

It's a close contest between the starred ones but I'll go for the Peerless Project 366 a beer brewed with what sounds like a genetically modified hop. It was in excellent condition at £1.65 in the Liverpool JDW the Lime Kiln. I dare say the price probably made it taste a whole lot better!
Spoons cider of the week is Fynburys Rutland Cider.

A good week for me managing a few in The Tabard, W4 after my daughter's graduation and a major session with 'oldboots' and ROBCamra, on Friday, in the 'Merrie City.'

Titanic - Steerage, Iceberg, Last Porter Call.
    Plain - Arty Farty.
    Old Mill - Traditional Mild.
    Marstons - New World Pale.*
    Acorn - Darkness.*
    Yeovil - Lynx Wildcat.
    Castle Rock - Black Gold.
    Black Iris - Bleeding Heart.
    Brass Castle - Bad Kitty.*
    Salopian -The Bends.*
    Elland - Pacifica.
    Revolutions - Cocker.
    Abbeydale - Deception.
    Great Heck - Voodoo Mild.*
    Butcombe - Great Grey Owl.
    Fernandes - Ten Degrees.*
    Rat - Rat Attack.
    Cotleigh - Osprey.

All the starred beers would probably have won in a quiet week, but The Bends was a lovely 5.2% APA, another winner from a favourite brewery.

A very decent week topped off by the fine crawl around St Albans

    Titanic -- White Star *
    Titanic -- Route 10 IPA*
    Titanic -- Plum Porter*
    Titanic -- Iceberg *
    Sadlers -- Hop Bomb
Red Squirrel -- Redwood American IPA *
    Verulam -- Alban Ale *
    RedWillow -- Shameless
Roosters -- Seventh Innings Stretch *
    Red Squirrel -- Summer Daze
    Fullers -- Summer Ale
    Redemption -- Big Chief *
Mad Squirrel -- Milk Stout *
    XT -- XT3
    XT -- XT15 (English IPA)
    Fullers -- Olivers Island

St Albans had a much better range of real ales than I was expecting but BOTW goes to Titanic Route 10 IPA a beautifully complex and strong IPA in great nick in The Bulls Head,Burslem. Sadly I had just about the last pint out,if it has stayed on the three pint test would have come into play .

    This week:

    Oakham Citra
    Oakham Bishops Farewell
    Titanic White Star*
    Titanic Iceberg*
    Titanic Plum Porter*
    Steam Flower Power

Sadly the Flower Power wasn't a patch on it's namesake brewed by Whim.
All of the Titanic beers were excellent and in top nick.
BOTW Titanic White Star. I was worried about this as the ABV has been dropped from 4.8% to 4.5%. I'm not generally in favour of reducing ABVs having experienced the change which Marston's made to Pedigree taking it from a world class beer to a barely acceptable BBB when going from 4.8% to 4.5%. In this case though all the flavour and character of White Star has been retained and a previously unputdownable beer is now even more suited to a session. Three pints - no problem.

The lemontime was better than the valentine.
