I used your villages to look for pubs, and it was easy from that to select ones that needed reviews or photos. Your villages look great the way they are listed.

Someone will probably beat me to the pubs now though as it will be for me to fill time in in the 2-3 days I have at home between jaunts. Thats no problem though as I can always check before doing a postcode to see how things are and change if necessary. I want to try to find new ones.

Off to IOM on Thursday, get back 22nd, then will go to Sheffield for Harlequin fest Friday. Devises for a couple of nights 29th on our way for 3 weeks in Cornwall. Unsure for Bank Holiday. May go over Newark way. Have 2 or 3 options open. 4th June caravan to Canterbury for a couple of nights en route to 3 weeks in Belgium.

    Wonderful life..........

Ha! You got me worried thinking there is new JDW in City Centre! That's the first time someone called it as Dog and Blanket instead of Wetherspoon. It is easily the most boring and worst of all in Bham's JDWs.

Seems you have missed out Dragonfly (Hurst Street) which stands almost opposite Hippodrome theatre. Darkish and hardened drinkers seems very popular in there.

Thanks Gill, glad you find it user friendly.

Devizes sounds interesting from a pub and canal boat point of view.

I went to Canterbury in February. The Unicorn in St Dunstans St wasn't bad - busy at meal times. The Wetherspoons West Gate Inn was also popular
    Waes hael!

    Gill,

I was going to do the Prince Hal as part of my getting to know East Birmingham and its one of my closest pubs, but will let you do that review, there are plenty more on my list!

    Happy drinking

Are you sure Hen & Chickens is closed? May I ask you when you did visit it?

EDIT: Just checked on Streetview, indeed it is boarded up.

Anyone wanting to review the pubs I have listed, please do. Goodness knows when I will get round to them, as I won't be in Brum a lot over the summer, and it may well be autumn/winter when I get round the next lot.

If my listing has got anyone fancying doing these - feel free. When I want to do my next jaunt, I will check them, and if they have been done I will find another - no problem.

I have been to the new Dragon Inn in Hurst Street before. Agree I will have to pop in again. Hoping to do an airport one tomorrow when we fly to IOM. There is one in each terminal I think.

Doh! Dragonfly is in BIA main building while Dragon Inn is on Hurst St. Sorry I mixed up with dragon names!
