Default Running cost of running a pub

    Hi there
For those of you who saw my last post will know I am looking for a pub to run
And I have now found a couple of locations suitable for what I want
These are abandoned pubs out in the middle of nowhere
So I cant see them having a lot of value
But before I contact the estate owner to see if they will rent them
I need to know how much it is going to cost to run them
What costs should I expect and how much
Like What type of council rates would I be charged

    Thanks

The only advice I can give you is if they are abandoned pubs in the middle of nowhere they are trying to tell you something. As a landlord once told me the easiest way to end up with a million in the pub game is start with 2 million. good luck.

This may sound harsh but if you are going into this venture and having to ask questions like this on a beer and pubs forum are you not taking a huge financial risk?
I certainly don't have any answers!

I guess I'm on the wrong forum then
As it would appear that this forum is for punters and not landlords

The only landlord I know of on this forum is Boots60. You could maybe try sending him a personal message.

Landlord!!! The thought of it. I don't think my liver would last too long with all that temptation! Good wind up though Sheffield.

I was for six weeks, didn't like it at all and gave it up as a bad idea.

If you are genuine check out the British beer and pub association they have a site that gives you typical costs and possible profits for different types of pubs.Type in the search box-costs of running a pub.
