Early submission as next weeks BOTW will be Estrella unless I'm very lucky.

Hand Drawn Monkey Smaller. Only 2.8% but still a hop monster.

Hadn't had it since they did a Meet The Brewer for us last year.

It's still great, tried in The Baun of course.

Not a very busy week for me :-

    Milestone Classic Dark Mild 4.0%*
    Evan Evans Golden Hop 4.2%
    Truman's Budburst 4.2%
Hook Norton Mountain Goat Hightail Ale 4.5%
    ELB Nightwatchman 4.5%*
Wild Card King Of Hearts 4.5%*
    Hook Norton Inspired 4.7%
    Hilden Nansen Street 4.8%
    Brodie's Old Street Pale 5.0%
Wild Card Queen Of Diamonds 5.0%
    Brick Blenheim Black 5.1%*
    Canopy Brockwell IPA 5.6%*
    Brodie's Leytonstone Stout 6.0%
    Brodie's Hackney Red IPA 6.1%*

The surprise of the week was coming across a decent beer from the Milestone brewery. I thought their Classic Dark Mild was as good as any. The winner is the Brick Blenheim Black, a first time brewery for me tried at the Wild Card Brewery Tap. It's a fairly typical Black IPA.

An interesting range of beers this week helped along by an Easter beer festival at a local pub and the outstanding Woodfest at the Junction/Horse & Jockey*, Castleford where my BOTW was sipped rather than supped. No-one actually knows how strong it was either, I'm also not sure if the Centurion's Ghost was from wood or metal as the Duck & Drake had both available for a comparative tasting the next day.

    Woodforde Wherry
    Rat Ratweiller
    Durham Jaded Muse
    Three Kings Hale Ale
    Maxim Double Maxim
    Oates APA
    Elland Rudimentary
    Maxim Maximus
Kirkstall 666 French wine cask aged
Kirkstall 666 Islay whisky cask aged
    Kirkstall 666 Bourbon cask aged
    Elland 1872 (12 month aged)
    York Centurions Ghost
    Brewsmith Oatmeal Stout
    Thornbridge Jaipur
    York Galaxy
    Roosters Blind Jack
    Kirkstall Dissolution IPA

BOTW Kirkstall 666 Islay Whisky cask aged

*Neil who owns the Junction has bought the pub next door and it was specially open for Woodfest, it will shut again and may become his brewery.
