i've chosen the Home Counties as the region i'll be getting the beers and ciders from for my May beer festival this year.

Two of my favourite breweries are Tring and Banks & Taylor.

Some friends of mine from Dunstable went to a cider tasting at Hemel Hempstead, of all places, and came back raving about the ciders. But that's cider drinkers for you...

Hi PM, Four I would add to the list are from Surrey - Surrey Hills Brewery and Tillingbourne Brewery, from Berkshire Windsor and Eton Brewery and Siren Craft Brew. Wikipedia suggests Sussex is counted as a home county despite not bordering London, If this is the case then you have to include Darkstar IMO.I'm not an expert on Ciders I'm afraid. Hope you have a good festival.

Twickenham Fine Ales and Crouch Vale brew some delicious stuff.

Siren Craft, Windsor & Eton and West Berks all good. Siren are modern craft hipsters, W&E modern but broad ranging and West Berks quite trad but good quality.

If possible, the beers from Flowerpots are exceptional but they are a small brewery so supply may be an issue.

Cider wise, Tim Whale at Tutts Clump has a good range and can usually supply.

I'd certainly recommend Gadd's (Ramsgate) and Kent Brewery which are both reliable and offer a good range of styles.

I'd recommend http://www.larkinsbrewery.co.uk/ :excellent tradtional beers, especially the seasonal Porter.

From personal experience I would go along with Kent, Dark Star, Gadds, Siren, Tillingbourne and Windsor & Eton. From Sussex Long Man brewery do some nice beers. There is a London cider maker in Woodford Green (people who live there think they are in an Essex village) called London Glider and there are probably several small producers in Kent and East Sussex.
