    I hope i am not treading on any toes with this,

    But the signage on the King William IV looks to me like The William the Forth.

    There's an old piece of plasterwork at the top of the building which reads King William the Fourth, but the more recent signs read King William IV, which is pronounced King William the Fourth (not "King William eye vee"). I reckon it should therefore remain as is.
