    A cracking country pub:Rock

The Antelope, nice pub with a good range of beer.

My nominations is the Station at Codsall. It does the four main Holden's beers and two guests which on my visit three weeks ago were Sarah Hughes Snowflake and an Elderflower pale by Purple Moose, I've still got eight Holden's pubs to visit but I'm not expecting any of them to come even close to this one or the Great Western in Wolverhampton.

A day out in Sheffield, plus a couple of random new ones, means I have 12 to choose from this month, a first for me. Virtually impossible to split the big hitters, but on the day I just loved the feel of Shakespeares. Although, everything was definitely a bit hazy by the time 'trainman' and I got there!

The Brass Monkey has the more characterful interior but Usher's Of Edinburgh wins courtesy of the extensive keg selection

    No competition in January.

POTM Rugby Tap Room. Rugby's first micropub, opened in December last year and already excellent.

47 new pubs done in January and lots of visits to Nottingham pubs makes this a hard decision,i liked the Barrel Drop in Nottingham and the Marsh in Cleckheaton plus 2 Samuel Smiths pubs but i have finally decided to go for The Old Vic a really nice Ossett Brewery pub with a good choice of real ales on the bar.
