I'll be on the train with a plus walk ticket.

It's only about 12 - 15 minutes from The Maltings To The Rook, so I'll be getting some exercise.

The buses are every 10 minutes or so and go all around the houses,
so with bad timing on getting to Rougier Street I could get there before you.

I agree that it's certainly walkable, but Google maps suggests that it's an 18 minute walk.

Just had a look a the BBC long range weather forecast, for Friday. Unfortunately, they're talking about thick cloud and heavy rain, at the moment. If that's the case, I'm sure those stronger, darker warming brews will come into their own.

The weather forecast is looking more favourable for walking now, with no rain expected and temperatures up to 9C.

Plus there's the option of a slight detour to Sutlers Bar for a look on the way, which means you'll definitely get there before me.

So a quick question - I know we're missing out the Blue Bell because of size/pub crawlers not welcome issues...are there any others not on the itinerary that are also off for similar reasons? I ask as I have Thursday night and a small sliver of Saturday afternoon in which to bag them....

Almost anything in the city centre, really. My favourites would include the Minster, the Three-Legged Mare, the Yorkshire terrier. Doubtless others can put forward their own fancies. Or you could try my Goodramgate crawl. I did it in an hour - see if you can do it any quicker!
