These have now been resolved: the Rook and Gaskill say they will definitely be open at 12 noon, the Woolpack are in fact opening at 1pm that Friday, though their normal time is 5pm winter and 3pm from Easter, and the Phoenix say they will open early for us as long as the new owners have not made any changes that would prevent it, like sacking all the present staff.

I have therefore done a detailed route with options for those who like to go a little off-piste, but also so that anyone who is planning to get to York a day early, or to stay a day later, can make their own plans to take in the pubs we won't be doing on the Friday. Please see the attached document. Comments are still welcome, and it's quite easy to make changes as there are still several weeks to go until the off.

    Cheers
Anyone know a good cafe for breakfast near the station rather than the spoons?

Just in case anyone's compiling a list of attendees, I'm in. For a change, and because she likes York, will be accompanied by Mrs R. Staying over til Sun. With Mrs R there, will probably have chance to visit no more than a dozen or so pubs on the Friday. See you in March.

I am very sorry, but much as we would love to be with you on this one, I am afraid it is going to be a bit too much for Ray at the moment. We will be with you in spirit, and look forward to hearing about your adventures up there.

The full Alan Winfield: add seven wild cards (plus York Tap twice) for 21 pubs in total.

You should know by now Will i never revisit pubs when on a pub crawl, unless i am very short on new pubs to do.

I have also upped my game on the last two crawls having done 22 pubs, this is probably the Christmas effect, having drunk lots of beer over Christmas i am able to do more pubs without getting too drunk

It's not looking promising, but the date is in my diary in case I do manage to get there.

I wrote that a few weeks ago, Al - should have updated it after I saw you had done 22 on your recent crawls.

I don't know how you do it.
