It's been referred to Admin i.e. Dave, so we can no longer close it.
A pub is for life not just for Christmas
I would guess it has been referred rather than actioned because there is a review dated 2009, seven years after it was demolished. Is there a different Midland Hotel to which this review belongs?
Come On You Hatters!
I think I submitted this one and have just had a look on the internet where there is short video of the pub before demolition, but the article under this one of the streets of abbey on Hyde road area show the pub before and after demolition and according to the last photo was demolished around 18th Oct 2003
You got it! Soup Dragon explained this one to me ages ago and I've gone and completely forgotten about it.
I wanted to keep the review but the venue isn't listed, soupy wasn't sure whether the correct venue should be listed as I recall and I just never got round to investigating properly.
Anyhow just approved the closure request, will try to sort out the review later.
The Midland was a proper pub not a posh bar of an hotel,
I went in the pub on the 4th of July 1992 when it was a Bass tied house,i did the Imperial before going in the Midland and the Pineapple after,so it should be somewhere between those two pubs, this was one of 2 pubs in Gorton that i forgot to take a picture of .
We are all equal, but some are more equal than others
I'm fairly confident that there are no posh hotel bars lurking in the back streets of Gorton, I suspect Richard visited the Midland Hotel in Mcr City Centre, it would fit the description. It isn't currently listed on here.
