That's incredible and doesn't it show what a rip-off gravy train most Southern England pubs are! I saw some of the other prices you were charged.

Once it opened it was always the best pub in Salisbury and I've been there a few times. If SW Trains got their act together and offered fares comparible with other lines (Virgin, Chiltern, Southern to name a few) I would return to Salisbury, visit the Spoons and then spend a long extended time in the Wyndham.

A disappointing week for me. A flying visit to London had me hoping I'd find something new to gladden the heart. However, with time against us, I had to settle for three indifferent pints in The Raven, W6.

    Palmers - Copper Ale.
    Hog Back - TEA.
    St Austell - Tribute.

The Tribute just shaded it over the Copper Ale.

Serves you right, you should have come to Todmorden with OB, Ms CAMRA and myself.

Despite trying several of the same beers as OB at the rather good Todmorden Beer Festival (35 beers + 5 ciders)

my BOTW is going to be from the first place we visited afterwards Bramsche Bar

where both OB and myself had a excellent pint of Marble Lagonda IPA.

OB went to the toilet in here and was gone for ages.

Ms CAMRA said "You'd better see if he's OK"

I said "Don't worry, he'll be reading the NME front pages" which are all over the toilet wall.

    He was too.

Thanks for rubbing it in! It was bad enough missing the festival, but then you had Lagonda on top of that. Shouldn't have any excuses next year, as my daughter qualifies in June and will probably have moved by September...Unless she does a Master's.
