Quality ale all through a very good week.

Marston's -- New World Pale Ale
    Marston's -- Pedigree
    Whim -- Flower Power * (3PT)
    Titanic -- Iceberg*
    Titanic -- White Star *
    Titanic -- Plum Porter*
Marble -- Earl Grey IPA *
    Oakham -- Scarlet Macaw *
    Tillingbourne -- Hop Troll *
    Oakham -- Hawse Buckler *

BOTW goes to Marble Earl Grey IPA in the unlikely surroundings of The Napoli,Leek.Deceptive at 6.8%,on the second pint I got the subtle infusion of tea, this brew is certainly complex but well balanced .

Next week I will be scratching around.

    Kent and Essex:
Brentwood-Summer Virgin 4.5% abv. Approached with trepidation due to certain adverse comments about the brewery on this site.Initial burst of nettley hops, slight haze, some underlying hardness.Yet another so-so Golden.
    Mighty Oak-Oscar Wilde Mild 3.7%abv.Bible black,lasting head.Liquorice and blackberries.
Tonbridge-Rustic 4%abv.Darkish, earthy best bitter.Spicy hedge fruit.Made from the unusual Kentish hop 'Epic',together with Fuggles from Alsace.
My BOTW-Tonbridge-Rustic. No pub visits on the horizon, though I might sneak a pint at the ploughing match on Saturday.

Quite lacking in pubs and beers this week,
    Darkstar Hophead
    Darkstar American Pale Ale
    Flying Monk Elmers
    Wild Weather Stormbringer
    Fraoch Heather Ale

    APA takes it.

Not a big week for me. Apart from the London Glory they were all pretty good.

    Dark Star Hophead 3.8%
    Triple fff Alton's Pride 3.8%
    Adnam's Topaz 4.0%
    Greene King London Glory 4.0%
    Tiny Rebel Cwtch 4.6%
    Tillingbourne Hop Troll 4.8%
    Wharfebank Ryestone Cowboy 5.0%
    Dark Star Festival 5.0%
    Hanlon's Stormstay 5.0%
Wild Card Queen Of Diamonds IPA 5.0%
Caledonian Barley Brown's Black IPA 5.2%
    Everard's Terrapin Rye 5.5%
    Thornbridge Jaipur IPA 5.9%
    Greene King Abbot Reserve 6.5%

The winner is the Terrapin Rye with an honourable mention for the Tiny Rebel Cwtch. Everard's have done a great job with this one, the latest in the Spoons American series. It was in superb nick at the E4 King's Ford (£2.35).

A good week for quality ale:
    Marstons Pedigree
    Whim Flower Power*
    Titanic Iceberg*
    Titanic White Star*
    Titanic Plum Porter*
    Marble Earl Grey IPA*
    Nobbys Chrystal
    Oakham Bishops Farewell*

Very difficult to seperate the Earl Grey IPA, Titanic beers and Flower Power which were all excellent. BOTW Whim - Flower Power in recognition of a small brewery producing a consistently tremendous beer.
