The Leeds pub scene just seems to get better and better, with a handful of new openings on the cards. Flares has been taken over by Sizzling Pub Co and is due to open very soon, as The Black Prince. Six ever changing guest ales are promised. A mere stone's throw away, Bar Censsa is now in the hands of Taylor Walker and after a major refurb will reopen mid September as The Griffin, also promising real ales. The Northern Monkey is also undergoing a major refurb, having been taken over by the people behind Tyke bar. Another real ale emporium is on the cards. Less specifically, Leeds Brewery are looking to open a new pub near the Minster. Finally, walking past Neon Cactus the other day (previously The White Swan) a flyer seemed to suggest it was going to reopen as The Black Swan, which sounds like a traditional pub in my book. So, plenty to explore in the coming weeks!
