We have been working out the cost (nearly £60 with our rail cards ) and whether we would be able to keep up with the group and decided we would be lagging behind playing "catch-up" so decided it would not be fair to the rest of you if we held you back. I end up feeling guilty if Ray starts to struggle so we get to the next pub before you are all ready to move on. . Don't think we will make Egham fest that weekend either as the walk from the camp site to the bus getting too much for him as well. We still like to get round pubs as well as beer festivals, but age catching up with us means we need to go at our own pace these days.

I know you will enjoy Bristol.

With under three weeks to go,I was thinking it might be sensible to at least tie down the early part of the crawl so that any late arrivals,or people disrupted by travel chaos would have a fighting chance of catching up with the crawlers and hopefully avoiding a random walk around Bristol in search of the PuG collective.

Reading back through the thread there is a wide variety of arrival times at BTM

    11.15 Quinno,london calling,Roger B and Bucking Fastard
12.05 Mobyduck,Big Steve (both going direct to Barley Mow),rpadam
12.15 Rex Rattus,Maldenman (both going direct to Barley Mow),Gann
12.42 sheffield hatter & Catia (meeting in Barley Mow)

Real ale Ray and Fiona's arrival time undisclosed.
With Pubsignman meeting up in either Barley Mow (12.40) or Bridge (13.15)

There are also a lot of "locals" namely Dave M & Tammy,an ecumenical matter, bcfczuluarmy & mate(KT 11.15 ) ,Blackthorn (13.15),Mrs Blackthorn (afternoon) some of whom have yet to disclose when they are joining in.

As one of the early brigade ,I was going to pop in the Knights Templar on arrival and line the stomach.Given that the other nearby pubs mentioned for the beginning of the crawl (Barley Mow,Bridge and Seven Stars ) dont seem to open 'til noon, the KT does seem the obvious gathering point for the early birds.Maybe once the 12.15 arrivals have slaked their thirst there the route show be

    Barley Mow
Bridge (point taken about size constraint, quick half ?)
    Seven Stars

Beyond that I am very happy to defer to local knowledge, and Dave's suggestion to leave the Cornubia and Kings Head for the return leg to the station later in the day seems sensible.

    Any thoughts ?
