Very straightforward, you can walk across one of the pedestrian bridges over the river. It only takes a couple of minutes.

Looks like they have a good range of beers as well.

From a visiting POV the Cottage is a nice pub when the weather is nice but from a beer POV http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/57106/ is better and closer.
