    Market Porter Portobello Dark
    Hop Back Taiphoon

The Blakemere Hit and Run deserves a mention as being a brewery new to me producing a beer described as "blond with raspberry". Sounds peculiar, tastes great.
BOTW goes to Market Porter Portobello Dark which was just the comforting ale I needed at the time.
Did you get mucking fuddled or should that be Portobello -market porter.

Had some decent but not great beers midweek
    brass castle -burn out
    ilkley- mash tonne
    bear hug -hibernation ipa
    firebrand -graffiti ipa
Camden -emporer nero (black ipa was pretty good)
ilkley-de passie (imperial passion fruit white ipa) not often you see this style of beer
queens head -premium bitter 5.9 rather good from the new brewery in the cellar of the Queens Head kings cross
    so the winner was
west berks -mr chubbs lunchtime bitter (a reliable beer watching the world cup in my local.)

There's no doubting it's an excellent beer, but it doesn't absolutely blow me away. Therefore, I'd only put it in the 'good' category. How do we decide? Maybe TP has the last say, as it's his thread.

I'd agree with that, I prefer the Revelation which although not described as an APA or IPA I would say most definitely is.

It has blown me away at least a couple of times but did involve entire Saturday afternoons and beyond on the stuff, very enjoyable it was too.

Great stuff, but a bit "extreme" for me, especially when there's my beloved Goachers' Dark on the bar!

I was almost the 3rd person to vote for Dow Bridge Ratae'd this week and I thought it was the best pint on our Rugby crawl.

But it was just beaten on Saturday in the Baum by Three Castles Tornado a 4.3% AMber ale, very pleasant.
