It's three for me the Marble Arch, Cambridge Blue and Whitelocks, only the Cambridge Blue visited in recent years. I thought it was four but the Newcastle Cumberland I've beer to is in Byker. I've never even heard of Ouseburn.

It's the same pub, located a short distance west of Byker in the Ouseburn Valley (nearly opposite The Cluny).

...but clearly "serves" Byker as well, so I've added it to that area.

So it is four then! Thanks for the clarification, I went there long before a certain rich and famous Geordie duo appeared in a TV programme called Byker Grove and long before JDW came to town.

That makes sense to me. I do like Newcastle a lot and hope to go back there without any pressure of chasing around a load of Spoons. The downside of the place is that a lot of the time I can't understand a word anyone is saying but I had the same problem in Keswick a few months ago!

I am not an expert in Belgian beers or particularly like them much, but heres a list.

Mostly 'usual suspects', and no Poperings Hommelbier?

I'm no expert but know someone who is, he visits Belgium (usually Ghent) almost as many times a year as I visit the Great Western in Wolverhampton.
I'm with BF on this as I prefer UK or even US style beers. Anything with Lambic in the title is vile as far as I'm concerned and the fruit flavour ones can be horrible as well.

Chimay is available in supermarkets and many pubs. It's OK but not worth the money.
La Chouffe I seem to recall my mate bought me a bottle of this. It was OK.
Delirium Tremens Widely available in pubs, over-rated and rubbish iMO. People buy it for the name.
Hoegaarden I thought it was horrible!
Kriek There used to be a company that did large paper wrapped bottles of a stronger Kriek and a 5% Framboise but I can't remember what it was called/.
Kwak My mate told me that a local Spoons is selling this, haven't tried it.
Leffe Both Brune and Blonde are commonly found in supermarkets. The draught Blonde has been available in pubs for twenty years.
Orval This is one that I actually quite like. You can find it in pubs over here.
Rochefort These are arguably the best of the more mainstream Trappiste beers. They can be found over here but usually at a prohibitive price.
Rodenbach I tried this once and thought it was vile.
Westmalle The most commonly found Trappiste beer. You can get it over here or even on the ferry to Antwerp. They are OK,

If you can afford the Eurostar fare I'm told you can do a day trip to Lille in France where many bars stock Belgian beers.
