I'm sure some places are just chucking the term in to get hits online. I've been here a few years ago and it had blokes walking in swapping game and eating rabbit stew iirc. Now it's a micropub yet it has a picture showing pumps on their Twitter feed.

If my local micropub did Fosters I'd live in it.

As I understand it, a small pub isn't a micropub, especially if it has been running as a small pub for many years: a micropub is a conversion of an existing shed, shop or public loo or someone's front room- a bit like the early 19th Century Beer House.

    Barley Mow Inn - Trefonen
    All Nations - Madeley

Not sure with some of the names that they would all fit the micropub true checklist, but sure they do.

    Oh and none for me.
    Only 3-

    Pheasant
    Barley Mow
    All Nations

All microbrewery pubs but not micro pubs.
A definite confusion from the author.

Given my relatively near locality an underachieving 7 .

The Swan at Streatley one of the 20 best real ale pubs in Berkshire? They've got to be having a larf.

When I also see that no.16 on the list is praised for having Fullers London Pride, and one of the highlights at no.17 is Wells Bombardier, all becomes clear - they are indeed having a larf.

Definately not accurate on the Micropub bit , Pheasant and All Nations already mentioned as being proper pubs of long standing , the Ludlow Brewery Bar is in an old engine shed and is pretty big .
I have done 6 but Salopian and Stonehouse had not got bars when i went

Good news for lovers of the All Nations , after a near 3 year break they have started Brewing again , the first test brew a 4.8% IPA quite hoppy but very bitter ..

There is a very valid point here in that there is a template for a micropub but many break some of the "rules".
The Pheasant in Wellington is a modernised pub that could easily claim a micropub status. As far as I know the Wrekin Brewery don't want it to be known as one and the same goes for the new Dark Star Anchor Tap in Horsham. This isn't an easy thing to define, I was pretty legless when I visited the Treacle Tap in Macclesfield, one of the earliest micropubs it went through my addled mind that this wasn't a micropub but a small pub. After a sober visit to the Lymestone Borehole in Stone at the start of the year I deemed that it was not a micropub but still have doubts as to whether that was correct.
If you go to an unequivocal one then it's obvious you are in one but there are an increasing number of borderline cases.

If its serving Lager its not a micropub, unfortunately for you, or that's what I thought ,the micropub assossiation doesn't actually say that in their description here. Apparently the remit has widened, making it rather like craft beer, undefined and confusing everyone in the process .
